So this was my army

-

Ragnar and 1 wolf

1 WG - PF

6 Grey hunters - Wolf standard, PW, MG

Rhino

 

Rune Priest - LL, TW, Saga of the BS

1 WG - PF

8 Grey Hunters - Wolf standard, PW, MG

Rhino

 

WBL- Thunder Wolf, Frost Weapon, Melta Bomb, Wolftooth Necklace, SS, Saga WB and 2 wolves

3 - Thunder Wolf Calvary - 1 w/ SS, 1 w/ Frost weapon, 1- standard

 

1 WG- PF

5 Grey Hunters - WS, PW, MG

Razorback - Twin linked Assault cannon

 

10 Grey Hunters - WS, PW, 2-MG

Drop Pod

 

1 Land speeder - HB, Typhoon

 

1 Land speeder - MultiMelta, Typhoon

First Round -

 

Played an Imperial guard player, this is roughly what he had-

 

2 - executioners

1 demolisher

tech preist

HQ - Creed, kell, Astropath, officer of the Fleet

Inquistor w / 2 mystics and 4 warriors

2 squads of elite troopers with 2 MGs

3 Chimeras

2 vet troops

1 platoon HQ

1 special weapons team

 

Five objectives -

1 on my left flank back by his deployment

1 left center in middle of forest terrain

2 - right flank center board and close to my deployment

1 - right flank near his table edge

 

 

 

My opponents first turn -

 

Moves executioners forward 6 inches

Moves large vet squad towards center objective

Fires executioner on right flank at my long fangs - no effect, make my cover saves

executioner Destroyed one vindcator on my left flank

snipers shoot at LF no effect

 

my First turn -

 

Dropped both dreadnoughts behind his lines right on his home objective - unfortunately I had forgotten about the inquisitor ability to shoot at my units when they drop close by him. So the dread with MM was stunned, could not shoot at the rear of his executioner, the other dread shot one of his squads w / HF and AC

Advanced my rhinos and razorbacks forward, popping smoke

Thunderwolf Calvary behind my transports

Advanced vindicator forward popped smoke

long fangs stunned one chimera

speeders stunned 1 executioner right flank

 

Opponents second turn -

 

Shot at my dreads stunned both and one was immbolized. Destroyed one drop pod

Fires executioner on left flank razorback and pops it but i lose nobody

snipers shoot at LF no effect

Advanced his large squad on to the center objective

Not much else occurred

 

My second turn -

 

Grey hunter drop pod doesnt show

Move both rhinos just outside center terrain, with objective in it

move vindicator forward 6" on right flank

Speeders destroys one chimera

Vindicator - kills most of squad that gets dumped from chimera

Long fangs - destroy weapon on one executioner left flank, and second executioner on right flank cant shoot

LL from rune priest pops HQ chimera

Drop pods shoot at squad on center objective

Thunder wolf cav advances forward

 

 

Opponent third turn

 

His demolisher comes in on my right flank

one of his vet squads teleports in next to my vindicator on my right flank

he moves the executioner on my left flank back and moves tech priest behind it

dumps out vet squad on chimera on my left flank and moves then back towards his home objective where my dreads and drop pods are

Chimera shoots at thunder wolf Calv, 1 wound

executioner shoots at my right flank and i lose 2 Ml and SGT

Troopers wreck my vindicator

Demolisher immbolizes speeder on right flank

snipers shoot at immbolized speeder and destroys missile launcher

stuns both dreads from shooting and wrecks one drop pod

Tries to repair executioner on left flank, no success

 

 

 

My Third turn -

 

My grey hunters do not come in from reserves

Disembark ragner and unit and move them close to center objective

Move rhino with rune priest towards the 2 objectives in right center of table

Move second speeder towards back center of my table away from demolisher

Move thunder wolf calv towards left flank and chimera

Speeder that moved fires missiles at demolisher and it gets stunned

speeder that is immbolized shoots heavy bolter in troopers that destroyed vindicator and wipes them out

Long fangs shoot at executioner on right flank and it gets shaken

Ragnar charges center objective and wins combat but squad passes leadership and stays

Thunder wolf cav charges executioner on left flank and chimera, no effect to executioner, wrecks chimera

 

 

Opponent's fourth turn

 

second trooper squad teleports in next to rhino with rune priest

Moves vet squad on left side towards Dreads

Moves executoner on right side toward 2 objectives on right center

Tries to repair excecutioner on left side no success

executioner shoots at Thunder wolves no success

Shoots at dreads, wrecks one and other is stunned and immbolized

Shoots at drop pod destroys weapon

Second troopers pop rhino with rune priest and i lose 2 grey hunters from explosion

snipers shoot at lose 1 more LONG fang

Ragnar wipes squad on center objective and consolidates on it

 

My fourth turn

 

Ugh a 1 , Grey hunters dont come in from reserves

Move Thunder wolves with charge range of vet squad on left flank near my dreads

move rune priests squad around troopers to be able to charge and still consolidate near right center 2 objectives

move speeder to get flank shot on right flank executioner

Long fangs shoot demolisher and stun it again

immbolized speeder shoots troopers and takes 1 out

speeder not immbolized shoots at executioner and destroys it

Ragnar unit shoots at inquistor and lose 1 warrior

Rune priest squad assaults trooper squad, wipes them out and consolidates to claim both objectives right center

Thunderwolves assaults vet squad near dread and wipes them out

 

We had 5 minutes left in game so did not go to 5th turn.

I won a major victory had 3 objectives to his 0

but he had 200 more victory points that i did.

 

next 2 rounds will be up when i get a chance

Second Round -

 

Played a Necron player, he ended up taking 5th in the tournament out of 20+ players.

He also played 3 space wolves players, major victory on 1 and massacre on the other

 

this is roughly what he had-

 

Night bringer

 

Lord - rez orb, phase shifter, phylactery, chronometron, Disruption fields

 

10 immortals (10 disruption fields)

 

2 squads of 3 wraiths each

 

Monolith

 

tomb spyder

 

6 squads of 10 warriors

 

 

 

I have only played necrons once before so I am not comletely sure of their rules

 

 

My opponents first turn -

 

He advances his army forward,

 

including is wraiths in the fore front towards my right flank, where a vindicator and long fangs are

moves night bringer behind wraiths

shooting from night bringer shakes my vindcator on right flank

 

 

 

my First turn -

 

Dropped both dreadnoughts on his right flank, my left flank

move speeders towards my far left flank

move vindcator towards my left

move my 2 rhinos and razorback back 6 inches (ends up being a huge mistake on my part, I was scared of the night bringer and wanted to give

myself more rounds of shooting at him before i engaged him)

advanced thundewolves up middle towards wraiths

Speeders shoot at night bringer and cause one wound

vindcator wounds 3 warriors in lead group 2 come back his turn

long fangs shoot at wraiths and wound 2 but they both come back his turn

dreads shoot into warriors and wound 4 but 2 come back next turn

 

 

Opponents second turn -

 

Monolith drops in middle of my army separates rhinos, thunderwovles, and razorback from my long fangs and vindicator on my far right flank

brings in warrior squad but does nothing with shooting

Moves night bringer back towards my dreads (his biggest mistake)

Moves wraiths closer my vindicator and LFs

Shooting stuns on dread and immbolizes and shakes other dread

shooting stuns vindicator

Monolith stuns rune priest rhino, and destroys Ragnar's rhino

Wraiths assault LF and vindicator, weapon destroyed on vindicator, LF lose no models, but tied combat

 

 

My second turn -

 

Grey hunter drop in near wraiths on my right flank to help support my vindicator and LFs

Thundewolves move toward his center line

Ragnar moves close to warriors near monolith

priest gets out of rhino

Speeders and rune priest fire on night bringer and drop him to 1 wound left

Vindicator fires on warriors but all but 1 come back his turn

grey hunters fire into wraiths and do nothing

razorback fires into monolith and nothing

Ragnar assault warriors by monolith, wipes them out

wraiths immobilze vindicator

wraiths kill 2 Ml in combat but i pass leadership

 

 

Opponent third turn

monolith moves 6"

night bringer shoots at one dread and weapon destroyed

warriors shoot at other dread and gets stunned again

monolith stuns rune priest's rhino and immobilzes razorback

monolith kills 2 from ragnar's squad

nightbringer assaults one dread and destroys it

wraiths assault grey hunters and kill 2 and i kill all 3 wraiths consolidate to support Lfs

second wraith squad kills another ML and SGT, but stay in combat

 

 

 

My Third Turn -

 

Move thunderwolves towards his line

Move ragnar up towards thunder wolves and then run his squad also

Disembark squad from rhino and move close to ragnar and within charge on monolith

Move speeders to get better shot on nightbringer

speeders shoot at nightbringer but no wounds

vindicator takes out 2 warriors that dont come back

Ragnar uses warhowl - gives furious charge to rune priset squad, thunderwolves, and grey hunter squad from drop pod

Thunderwolves charge into lord and his warriors, takes down 6 warriors, 4 dont come back, lose one Tw

rune priest squad charges into monolith 2 penetrating shots cant move or shot, ugh

Grey hunters kill the rest of the wraiths engaged w long fangs, but lose 5 models and consolidate towards his lines

 

 

Opponent's fourth Turn

 

Moves night bringer near my vindicator and immobilzes from shooting

moves units near my tw wolves

moves tomb spyder near my last dread

shooting from guardians pop both drop pods

shooting from warriors knock grey hunter squad from drop pod to 2 models only but they do not break

shooting knocks out 2 models from ragnars group

shooting negligible from monolith

night bringer assaults vindicator and wrecks it

combat i lose 2 more TW, and knock lord down to 1 wound

 

 

My fourth Turn

 

move ragnar squad and drop pod grey hunter squad closer to thunderwolves for support

move speeders away from night bringer

speeders take down night bringer

razorback does nothing against monolith

2 Ml shoot at monolith and nothing

tw continue combat and take down lord, and i lose last tw calv, but warriors do not break

 

 

Opponent fifth Turn

 

shooting from him is negligible

razorback gets immobolized from monolith

Lord comes back

WGBL dies in combat lord and whats left of warriors consolidate only 1 inch away from my other units

 

 

 

My fifth turn

Immobilze monolith from combined shooting from long fangs, rune priest squad and razorback

Ragnar squad and grey hunter drop pod squad charge lord's warrior squad - lord gets knocked back down again and warrior squad gets wiped

 

 

The game ends and he beats me by 200 victory points which makes the game a draw

 

 

My mistakes was that i focused too much on the monolith and that I had backed up my units away from nightbringer.

I lost valauble yardage in getting ragnar into combat with his lines.

 

Good game and down to the wire.
