Hfran Morkai
Hi all, My local GW has set up a "House" system where you gain benefits (for all systems, though only 40K be relevant here) for belonging to a particular house. Now one of these houses offers you the chance to give HQ choices a psychic power from the codex, even if they are not psykers. I tend to use Wolf Priests as my HQ choices because they're cheap and do what I want them to. However the capability to throw a psychic power onto him is tempting (though I could well lose him to Perils...) but what psychic power would be helpful? He runs (or jumps) with a full Skyclaw pack and the rest of the army is based around Drop Pods. I'm thinking with the additional movement Fury of the Wolf Spirits might see some action with it's insanity but I'd like your thoughts. This is also pretty nifty because I'm not quite sure which I like better, reading the Runes or bashing Blood Claws over the head, I can do both at the same time now! Polonius
Stormcaller. Fearless jump pack assault troops with a cover save are nasty. If you don't need cover, than living lighting is a great anti-transport choice. Vash113
Living lightning is a great choice in general, if my Rune Priest gets stuck a long way from the fighting he can still hurl psychic might into the fight and contribute even from the other side of the board... I like that. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/201708-runic-wolf-priest/#findComment-2403075 Share on other sites
GeoWolf
Hmm, thats a nasty combo there. Living Lightning, while being a great power, feels a bit wasted on a unit that is trying to get to grips with the foe. I can't argue with storm caller, cover saves are wonderful. But don't forget about JotWW. While jumping across the board looking for a poor unit of Boyz to pick on, I just can't help but imagine the look on your opponents face as you casually send his weirdboy, boss and a kan or two with a handful of nobz plummeting into the earth. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/201708-runic-wolf-priest/#findComment-2403109 Share on other sites
saphius
JoTWW. - Being able to jump into position to line up models is invaluable. Not to mention the ability to take our Knobs or PF models before the charge. Potentially saving your WP from instant death. Requiem of the Wolf
eff the Rune Wolf Priest. Rune Lord. Wolf Lord with a Frost Axe, Storm Shield, Thunderwolf and living lightning makes me hot. I think I just put a hole in the bottom of my table from excitement over that idea. Specially since my MrDandy TWM arrived today...Though I don't have a file to remove all the moulding from it =( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/201708-runic-wolf-priest/#findComment-2403269 Share on other sites
