Why did the EC stop wearing the aquilla?

Was wondering, since they kept the Emperor's Children name as a mockery sort of thing, why not the aquilla too? seems like that would be just as, if not more insulting to loyalists?

They do have the one wing to remind of the Imperial Eagle.

I love using aquilla chest pieces on my EC army. I agree, it is a nice flip-off to the loyalists.

 

Plus it looks awesome.

Not only do my EC use the Aquilla, they often incorporate it into the symbol of Slaanesh. Of course, mine also use the original EC colors as they are very prideful and still consider themselves the best.

After the Emperor's Children turned traitor, the use of the aquilla on the chest was passed to all loyalist Legions as a sort pro-loyalist emblem. The corrupted Emperor's Children probably largely discarded it due to a desire to replace it with new icons, and the fact it was no longer 'special'.

 

That and its possible they got tired of their fellow traitors taking pot-shots at them. :D
