Israfel
Brethern, I see a lot of LR's included in BA armies, especially in larger games to deliver the death star units. As the topic suggests which LR do you prefer and why? I'm a firm believer of the standard LR and it has become even better with the upgrade to the machine spirit. Being able to smoke two pieces of armor in one round of shooting is wonderful  On the other hand the carrying capacity kind of screws up your possibilities as you can't fit in a support character for your termies and have to forego a special weapon if you are putting RAS inside. The LRC has always been a staple for assault based land raiders, it has proven it's worth many times over with a lot of transportation capacity and quite effective shooting. Then again the hurricane bolters are not very effective when all is said and done. The Redeemer is the new guy in town and I have never used it, but it seems like cross over with more transportation capacity than the standart LR and a small price benefit. The flamers' range is very short though and I find it hard yo use it effectively (in theory). What are your thoughts and experience?
the jeske
Then again the hurricane bolters are not very effective when all is said and done. ever played against orks/nids or IG ? I would go for a 2 crusader 1 normal build. or 3 normal in 1750.
Sanguinarian
I run 2: 1 LRC which delivers my TDA Libby and 5 Tactical Termies right up the gut from Turn 1; and then an LRR which Deep Strikes from Reserves carrying my Death Company and Reclusy, obviously homing in on my lone DC Dread that drops in behind enemy lines. Against Dark Eldar, the Hurricane Bolters can wipeout a squad in one round and the Assault Cannon can bring down a Raider or Ravager with ease. The Termies and Libby stay onboard until they have to bail out. The dual Flamestorms on the LRR ignores cover and melts a unit (or 2) hunkered down inside a bunker or crater and the Assault Cannon brings down the unit chump, I mean Champ. Then the DC eats whatever's left. The hardest part is disembarking without getting fried in promethium.
Dhx711
I personally prefer the LRR over the LRC if I'm using it as an assult veh. Why? Simple the flame storm sponsons deliver MEQ armor penning death. The regular LR is better IMO as a rear fire platorm.
ant1clock
I use both LRC and LRR. Don't forget that the Hurrican Bolters are classed as defensive weapons, so the LRC can move 6 and fire all the weapons at its disposal.Ass canon as normal, melta as machine spirit and bolters cause their defensive. Quannum
Let's have a look at each of them in the context of their use in a BA list: Land Raider Pros: Excellent long-range and anti-armour weaponry. POTMS boosts the anti-tank capability. Perhaps most favourable if you want to keep the squad inside - the long range weaponry keeps you effective and relatively safe. It's a Land Raider. Cons: Lowest transport capacity means a choice between a full special weapons RAS team/Termie Squad/etc. or support characters. Land Raider Crusader Pros: Highest transport capacity usually eliminates squad choice concerns. Excellent weaponry for mowing down light infantry. It's a Land Raider. Cons: Excellent weaponry for mowing down LIGHT INFANTRY - not really a desirable target for your main battle tank. POTMS somewhat wasted. Land Raider Redeemer Pros: Excellent anti-MEQ weaponry. Solid transport capacity - allows for both a full squad, a Priest and a character - a usual weapon of choice. It's a Land Raider. Cons: Close range/template weaponry can prove troublesome - though this is offset by Deep Strike. ;) My money, most definitely, is on the Redeemer variant - it's just so much more Blood Angel-y than the other two. Whitefireinferno
OMG that is teh Orsome but the only thing I would do is swap the TL H bolters for TL Heavy Flamers. --WFI--
Burningblood
For my money its the crusader all the way- especially with the multi melta upgrade. However, to be honest, i've never used the other two. I like the playstyle and versatility of the angry crusader!
Exterminatus Machine
I heart the redeemer...c'mon 2 flamestorm templates off a deep strike...oh wait, the raider can use a loc beacon of a D-Pod...retarded. I like the crusader as good transport for Death Company...it's kinda dumb how many power weapons can pile out a turn after the deep strike in an ablative LAND RAIDER...
