Tx_gamer
I decided to make a full buy-in on the BA fluff and do the Second Company. Because of that I could only make two RAS from that company and the third would have to come from a different Company. That RAS will be from 8Th CO. Because of my buy-in, I decided all Un-helmeted Marines would be blond ala Sanguinius. Although I have never done ot before I wanted to give NMM a go and I wanted to keep my color palette VERY low on this army, because I feel it makes an army more striking. Lastly I've started using "glazes" to blend my highlights. This was very hard for me to bring myself to do because it can be quite time consuming but since I have the time (currently deployed to Iraq for a year) I figured I'd give it a go. I'm quite happy with it's results and will be adding it to my regular plan of action for all painting projects. Below are the three RAS sergeants. Those plus a single "palette test" Assault Marine I painted means I currently have 4 of 44 painted for my 1500 Jump List. Please add any C&C you see fit. My Photo quality still needs some work. http://i803.photobucket.com/albums/yy319/bfg_store/WIPs/3BASGTs-1.jpg http://i803.photobucket.com/albums/yy319/bfg_store/WIPs/BASGT-1.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/201856-new-blood-angles-army-and-my-nmm-plan/ Share on other sites

Tx_gamer
Update: 21 MAY Below is my RAS test model next to the test model for my Honor Guard. You can hopefully note the difference between the Yellow Helmet and the NMM "gold" helmet. I still need work, but I'm not completely disheartened by the results. As usual my photo skills on miniatures are lacking. I think I may look at a better camera. As always C&C are appreciated. http://i803.photobucket.com/albums/yy319/bfg_store/WIPs/BAAS01.jpg http://i803.photobucket.com/albums/yy319/bfg_store/WIPs/BAMG.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/201856-new-blood-angles-army-and-my-nmm-plan/#findComment-2407176 Share on other sites
Tx_gamer
My assembled Captain. He's next on my painting block. http://i803.photobucket.com/albums/yy319/bfg_store/WIPs/BACPT01.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/201856-new-blood-angles-army-and-my-nmm-plan/#findComment-2408420 Share on other sites
Tx_gamer
Here's a small update on CPT Aphael of the Second Company. This shows the basic process I use on all my Blood Angels, painting the red with highlights first, followed by the underlying black then details (largest to smallest.) He's coming along a bit slower then I would like as work (plus an unreasonable addiction to Smallville) has taken more of my time this week then I would have liked. I hope to have him done by this weekend. I'm still undecided about how I will paint his PW. This will be important as it will be the basis for the other 10 or so PW in my 1500 point list. C&C are always welcome. Thanks http://i803.photobucket.com/albums/yy319/bfg_store/WIPs/BACPT03.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/201856-new-blood-angles-army-and-my-nmm-plan/#findComment-2412740 Share on other sites
ozris
I'd paint the PW in a blue color scheme - makes a nice contrast to all the warm colors used so far. Plus they look awesome in blue imho  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/201856-new-blood-angles-army-and-my-nmm-plan/#findComment-2412750 Share on other sites
