thade
In the Tau Codex, their Troop choices have a 1+ in their entry, implying they are either compulsory (in some unspecified way) either for the Codex itself or due to some prior 4th Ed thing that I'm unfamiliar with. This gets tricky with the Farsight special character, which makes Crisis suits (Elite choices) "1+". Does this mean they are Compulsory? Or that they count as Troop/Scoring units? I'm thinking the former, but if it's the latter, that's scary. ShinyRhino
That indicates that they are compulsory. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/201902-troop-choices-in-the-fo-chart-vs-4th-ed-comp/#findComment-2405313 Share on other sites
Hfran Morkai
Some codeci with various options for say troops would require you to take a minimum of one option before you could take others. For example with the Tau you needed one unit of Fire Warriors before you could take a Kroot unit as troops, ensuring one of your compulsories was the Fire Warriors and you couldn't run with just Kroot squads. Same with their HQ, you have to take a Battlesuit before you can take an Ethereal. Old IG codex used to require an Infantry Platoon before any other troop choices IIRC Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/201902-troop-choices-in-the-fo-chart-vs-4th-ed-comp/#findComment-2405319 Share on other sites
thade
Okay, so...in other words, Compulsory does not equal Scoring unit. =) Thanks!
