ok I've only read the 1st nd 2nd book

but I've heard that tanith get more troops some how

*no spoilers please*

 

so I am thinking of gooing DiY with a raven guard sucessor, but born and bred from the Tanith

makes sense no? tanith - stealth, RG stealth

 

so thoughts and all welcome

I'll be thinking up fluff in th emean time

Sorry to burst your buble. But since you've already read the first and second book, you should realice that Tanith is no more (due to tactical error by High Command). Before Gaunt coming along, Tanith never founded a regiment for the Imperial Guard, since the sector was overrun by Chaos. (Hence the Sabbat Crusade)

That, and tying yourself to official/semi-official things reeks of an attempt to make your chapter cooler through association.

Aye, these guys pretty much nailed it right there. You arent gonna be able to recruit from the Tanith since your supply is gonna run out within a single human's lifetime. However theres no reason you can't recruit from those other super stealthy woodsmen from that similar planet, Zanith....

I have and they get the Hab workers and or sracth companies to join up

Actually, the Ghosts do not recruit. They take a new complement from each source (after they recruit from Verghast they also find another way to get more men). Also, we know nothing of Verghast post-Necropolis, so trying to play it up as an Astartes recruiting world is messing around with GW fluff.
