Brother-Captain Sharp
Well, I suppose it's time to resurrect this blog. I've done some more on the Angels of Retribution (my Imperial Fists distracted me, and I was super busy during the 4th quarter with school and 2 jobs, but those are over now). Here's some snippets of the work. http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj236/sesharp/32077920-1.jpghttp://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj236/sesharp/7b530d7c-1.jpg http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj236/sesharp/2a1b15be-1.jpghttp://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj236/sesharp/4c8cf579-1.jpg http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj236/sesharp/7ad8e382-1.jpghttp://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj236/sesharp/3c077228-1.jpg (Bad pictures I know) So to really restart the blog with new work, I return to my true love; converting. First up is a conversion off of Tyberos. He is Execution Librarian Rezziel, in service with the Angels of Retribution from the Consecrators Chapter. http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj236/sesharp/2011-12-31210330-1.jpg http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj236/sesharp/2011-12-31210314-1.jpg http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj236/sesharp/2011-12-31210339-1.jpg The chain halberd is a weapon taken from a captured Fallen warrior and re-consecrated for the hunt for the Fallen (this was a great idea taken from the Consecrators thread in this very sub-forum). I think it looks appropriately brutal. The sword will be his force weapon. He's designed for a special 3-man terminator unit that's in my Angels of Retribution homebrew codex. They work much like character units in Warmachine. Here are the three together: http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj236/sesharp/2011-12-31222049-1.jpg Next is my next Scout Dreadnought. This one is designed as a Mortis dread. Designed to harry flanks and rear of an enemy formation, the dread is designed for speed and firepower. The weapon arms were inspired somewhat by the Contemptor weapon arms, but moreso from another sort of bipedal war machine. Cookie to the first person to guess the universe (it's not really that hard), and a whole internets to whoever guesses the exact machine (to make the comparison completely correct, I should have two lascannon arms). http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj236/sesharp/2012-01-01033633-1.jpg http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj236/sesharp/2012-01-01033626-1.jpg http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj236/sesharp/2012-01-01033701-1.jpg http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj236/sesharp/2012-01-01033626-1.jpg And the weapon arms actually aren't glued. I stumbled upob the fact that the bracket for the Ravenwing Land Speeder Tornado fits perfectly into the face of the missile rack for the Typoon is you break out the missiles. If you press in hard, it holds like glue. So now as long as I design around that bracket, I have interchangable arms. Here's one with the Twin-Linked assault cannon. http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj236/sesharp/2012-01-01033731-1.jpg I had a lot of fun with these models. The Dreadnought especially was fun. The arms actually only have the very top bit of the original Dreadnought arms. There is definitely a lot of cleanup work and gap filling to do, but the concept is finished, just details like the shoulders. are left. Comments and criticism welcome, as always! Veteran Sergeant
It is quite odd how it looks nothing at all like the Vulture from Battletech. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/201958-the-angels-of-retribution/page/3/#findComment-2973731 Share on other sites
muffel
That dreadnought sure is one heavily armed scout! ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/201958-the-angels-of-retribution/page/3/#findComment-2973771 Share on other sites
cathar the great
Very interesting Dread build, my favorite of yours so far. Quick question, what bit did you use to connect the arms to the shoulders? I'm usually good at identifying these parts but this time I'm lost.
