Roles of supplementary marine programs

I'm just wondering how, if at all the roles of our (what the heck do you call these organizations anyways) are different? I know our Reclusiam has the added task of seeing to our afflicted brethren. Our Apothecarium diligently labors to alleviate our flaw. What about our Librarium? What tasks are set before them? I believe they're charged with recording historical data of the chapter, but what else?

The Sanguinary Priesthood serves as the Blood Angel and Successor chapter's version of the Apothicarium. They also serve a role in the training and creation of new Blood Angel/Successor gene-seed space marines. They give the neophytes a dose of their blood which is said to be the closest thing to the blood of Sanguinus...(Quote the codex, nevermore...)

The Librarians are the militant wing of the Librarium's late fee collection agency. Do not keep a book overlong, brothers! Nor should you spill consumables upon their dust jackets! A coffee ring is NOT a purity seal!

in the passing of the chaptermaster comand automatically passes to the high priest and chaplin, rather than the captain of the first company. fluff for that is on page 8. and both sectors also look after the chapters spiritual health, rather than just the chaplins as they also have the death co etc to look after. And everyone if out to find a cure, and make the ba even more bad ass, aka see if everyone can become mephy :Troops:

I'm a firm believer in original intent, especially in regards to Librarians: originally they weren't just boomsticks who wrote sagas - they were the chapters intelligence and communications corps: Lexicanii would write after-action reports which Codiciers would then review for intelligence value whilst Epistolaries were charged with maintaining the chapters communications of which the librarians were a vital part as they served as short-range astropaths. Librarians were also commonly tasked with reconnaissance duties due to their ability to rip intelligence from an enemies mind and then transmit it back to base.
