Using Army Painter

Has anyone used Army Painter Color Primers & Quickshade? What do you think of them? Also how complete did you do the faces? Did you paint in eyes before dipping or waited till after the dipping to finish it off?

I did not use the colour primers so far, but I had bad experience witht the white basecoat. But others had more positive experience. So ymmv.

I paint the eyes beforehand. I usually just paint the face in Bronzted Flesh and then apply a careful white drybrush. That is enough as you can see here:

I found that the sprays can come out quiote thick, so lots of thin coats are required rather than the way they do it on the tutorial

I have had positive results with AP's Pure Red and Strong tone quickshade.

I recommend them.

So is the Quickshade actually a dip, or is it a wash? I had thought it was a wash?

I use the sprays as a basecoat for my marines, thin, small and even coats work best, I've had no problem with them, however often washes separate over the coat, so adding a tiny amount of detergent, such as fairy liquid, to your washes should remove that problem though.

It's a dip. You can use it as a wash, IF you thin it alot.
