Lazarus666
Hi there battle brothers! As the winds are whispering about a new codex i am to revive my old army! And the most urgent thing for me is that i need to replace my old stand-in grand master ( just a white termie sergeant... ) I really hope that my skills will be sufficent as i want to make a model worthy the title 'Grand master'. I started with just a regular black reach terminator and chopped it apart. and here is some WIP shots. http://i592.photobucket.com/albums/tt5/Inquizarus/Grand%20master/2010-05-2111-08-02343.jpg http://i592.photobucket.com/albums/tt5/Inquizarus/Grand%20master/2010-05-2111-08-51949.jpg http://i592.photobucket.com/albums/tt5/Inquizarus/Grand%20master/2010-05-2111-09-10942.jpg *casts spell, hail of C&C* Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/202071-grey-knight-grand-master/ Share on other sites

cathar the great
Looks good, but I think you need to do something about the shoulder joints. Allow me to show you what I mean with a sketch of your Knight's anatomy: As you can see, his arms have one joint too much  If I were you, I'd make the plasticard pads on the shoulder armor thinner so they can be closer to the torso, and broaden the green stuff joint. Other than that, looking forward to what you come up with next ^^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/202071-grey-knight-grand-master/#findComment-2408308 Share on other sites
Lazarus666
Oh snap, you are correct it seems.. I will try to do something about the joints, a pity since i was kinda satisfied with the ribbing XD -- Edit http://i592.photobucket.com/albums/tt5/Inquizarus/Grand%20master/2010-05-2209-08-10045.jpg I removed the plasticard from the shoulderpads totaly. Is it better now? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/202071-grey-knight-grand-master/#findComment-2408343 Share on other sites
cathar the great
Already a lot better, though I would try to get the arms even closer to the torso. Also, now that the cloak is removed, I can see that the joint you made for the left leg is also too long. Makes his left leg look much longer than the right. Why did you make it so far apart from the waist? Unless you have some extra armor planned there, I think you could just glue the leg directly to the waist there without any green stuff joint between it. I know that changing the arms and the leg will make the pose less open, but the Terminator models sadly don't lend themselves to such open poses. (And please don't get discouraged by my comments. The mini is great and has lots of potential, so I just want to help you make it totally awesome ^^) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/202071-grey-knight-grand-master/#findComment-2408389 Share on other sites
Lazarus666
Thanks for the C&C mr! The leg joint is big i know, i had intended to cover it with cloth in the future but maybe il fix that the right way instead. And i will think about getting the arms closer to the chest. Also, i would really like suggestions on what else to do with the model to get a more "knigthly" feeling to it. Cheers! Lazarus666
I am sorry for doubleposting but i already have an update on this. http://i592.photobucket.com/albums/tt5/Inquizarus/Grand%20master/2010-05-2210-31-57910.jpg I tried to maintain as much of the pose as possible as i like having him running forward. From the front it doesnt really look like he is running but from the side it is clearer. cathar the great
Much, much better ^^ As realistic as a Terminator pose can get and still very dynamic. Knight feel usually means sharper edges. The plasticard armor already helps a lot. Maybe take a look at the Marine by Scibor on Cool Mini or Not. They all have a nice more or less knighty feel and might also give you ideas for the legs. Terminator Lord Another one Termie Standard bearer Wolf Lord Dark Angel Lord one with WiP pics Hope this helps ^^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/202071-grey-knight-grand-master/#findComment-2408422 Share on other sites
