Got my Ragnar model in! So now I am ready to start this great company off right!

So far I have:

2 Squads of Bloodclaws (15 each, each squad has one plasma pistol, a melta gun in one and a plasma gun in the other, one squad has a Pfist, the other a Power Weapon

I have enough for Eight squads of Grey Hunters, ten each, though I will need six Pfist/Pwpn's, 7 Plasma/Melta guns, 2 flamers, 5 bolters in order to complete all eight

3 squads of Long Fangs: one with four ML and a Las + squad leader, one with 2 PC and three ML + squad leader, one with 3 HB and Multi-melta

1 Squad of Sky Claws (10 SW) a PFist with a flamer

As far as points I really couldnt tell you what I have. Its a lot.

I know I need more vehicles, I would really like to have a Razorback for each squad of Long Fangs and a Crusader/Redeemer ( I like the Crusader better) for each squad of Blood Claws, one squad of Grey Hunters will be sporting the Landraider while the others will have the standard Rhino's.

Ultimately I will try for a full squadron of Landspeeders as well. A pair of Vindicators and Whirlwinds and a trio of Predators to boot.

Any other suggestions?

I have one, BRING BACK THE LEMAN RUSS!!!!

True. I have the one drop pod presently.

Oh I also have ten wolf scouts, five with sniper rifles (like that increased BS), one with Bolter, one with HB, and three standard bolt pistol/CCW.

My goal is for it to look like this:

8 Squads of Grey Hunters

4 Squads of Blood Claws

5 Squads of Long Fangs

2 Squads of Wolf Guard

Oh wait....

Just got another Wolfpack for my army.

Made five of em Plasma Gun carriers for my Grey Hunters, two more got power weapons and a third got a Pfist-ALL for my Grey Hunters squads. Another got a Lascannon and the final one will be a Long Fang Squad Leader with Pfist and Plasma Pistol.

Now I only need 12 more to complete my Grey Hunter squads.

Need the same number for my Long Fangs.

And THIRTY Blood Claws to boot :cuss :tu: :eek

So how high are the prices supposed to jump in June?

I usually run my Grey Hunters with a Plasma gun, flamer, a power weapon or power fist, and I am considering having a plasma pistol along just for fun. Meltaguns are just so darn hard to find....

How do you usually run yours?

I always go double of a special weapon. Flamer sucks, IMO (maybe local meta or something), so I play with 1-2 GH packs w double plasma and 1-2 packs double melta. That is, if I dont have WGs in them. Also the PP is a great addition I think, but many of my friends think of it as a waste of points. Also - PW on GHs. Save the fist for WGs and stuff like that. The single attack a GH gets is not worth it. 3A with PW on the other hand (with counter-attack) is very much worth it.

If you worry about dreads and stuff like that, just avoid combat with them. People often want fists to "be safe" against walkers and MC, but I feel that 9 times out of 10 you can just avoid it, shoot it and engage with something that can kill it. Wasting points on a PF is not at all worth it. A guy with Mark of the Wulfen is a lot better, even if he is unreliable against MCs and walkers.

When you add WG to GH or BC do you have to remove one model to fit them in?

If I was reading the book right then Grey Hunters can have a Plasma/Melta gun and IF they have over five men (MINE ALL DO) they can have a second FREE (I LOVE THAT PART OF OUR CODEX), and then another model with either a PW or Pfist AND then still have the option of a Plasma Pistol.

My only fear is having that many weapons in a squad that can go splat if they fail their rolls. When I ran with Ultramarines I ran with flamers and hardly ever used em. Ran wolves ONCE and got three different flamer attacks that really hurt my opponent. He was playing Daemons for crying out loud!

I think I will have six squads with a flamer/plasma combo, and will try two squads with double plasma AND plasma pistols to boot and see how that works. Keeping the flamers for sure, but may add the plasma pistols to the other SIX if it works out. I usually run 50/50 on the Power Fist or Power Weapon so that isnt really an issue with all this plasma. IF I could get a couple of Meltaguns then I definately consider running them in there somewheres too.

Locally we roll to see if it gets hot, but once I played a guy who insisted that I role to hit, IF I rolled a ONE then it did get hot, and I rolled the save accordingly. To which I am fine with, once less roll to have to make as opposed to One to get hot or not ( ;) ) another to hit, and another to wound....

When you add WG to GH or BC do you have to remove one model to fit them in?

No, you can legally have 15 BC + 1 WG to make a 16 man squad I believe. However, the WG doesn't get added to the squad until deployment and so isn't present for purchasing of wargear - I.e. 9 GH + 1 WG is 9 men, not 10, so you don't get the extra weapon... 10 BC + 1 WG does make 11 for purposes of fitting into a Rhino or Drop Pod however...

2 Squads of Wolf Guard

this makes 190 models, of which i'dd consider 130 battle hardened, so take some more grey hunter packs;)

I also have a squad of Sky Claws. 10 strong. Though due to their nature I could see the Great Wolf controling them as well and dolling out as he deemed necessary.

I suppose I could add another squad of Grey Hunters and still be well within the two hundred limit set by fluff. Arent wolf scouts also controlled by the Great Wolf as well?

I played an apoc game once where my teamate fielded his wolfscouts in front of my Ultramarine 3rd Company, yes, I said company, the darn points was that high.

Anyway, he didnt know why he dropped em there with only a couple of small trees to hide behind but he did and when chaos came forward to attack my sector I covered those scouts the entire time until they stuck themselves into those tricky chaos marines as they came forward. Chewed them up right good.

My opponent's partner threw his entire Ork force at my partner from the get go and it was a tough bloody fight for a good while. Meantime my 3rd company pounded the Chaos boys from a-far. Took out his Defiler and all but one obliterator in turn one and chewed up his Chaos Marine Squads. Even had a few attacks to loan out to my partners opponnent, knocked out a trukk and a deftkopter and a few Orks on the side.

He got tabled, except for the scouts. I knocked the Chaos boys out and was starting to throw down against the Orks when time ran out. To this day I insist I couldve won in two more turns. Instead we ended it in a draw.

His biggest mistake, and this was his first time out with his wolves, was that he didnt focus his Long Fangs on one squad of Orks at a time as they came up. He also charged way to early, not allowing his Grey Hunters to whittle the Orks down even further. He came without a single Blood Claw.

To his credit he is now one of our leagues better players.

Space Wolves Character - Haegr The Great

Well, after reading wolfblade the second time, I have decided Haegr (the giant guy [did i spell his name wrong? it's late...])looked cool. This may be him if he turned wolflord.

WS5 BS5 S5 T5 W3 A4 LD10 Sv 3+(4+)

Wargear- The Hammer of Russ, Brace of Russ, Circlet of Russ, Frags, Meltabombs, Kraken's Adamatime, Wolf Pelt, Wolf Tail Necklace

Special Rules-

Hammer of Russ - This is a Thunderhammer, or a Frostblade. Your must choose which as the beggining of the combat phase.

Brace of Russ - This is the dual pistols he carries. Counts as mastercrafted boltpistol.

Circlet of Russ - This is rumored to have sat on Russ's brow. This confers a 4+ Inv save.

Kraken's Adamarime - This ancient object keeps the bearer safe from otherwise potentially dangerous shots and attacks. The bearer cannot be killed instantly from double toughness, he only takes one wound instead.

A Giant Amongst Giants - Heagr himself is HUGE. His stature inspires his comrads, and keeps them fighting. This asks as Rites of Battle as a SM Commander.

The Mighty Warrior - Heagr beleives himself a mighty warrior, and is fearless in combat.

His toughness represents his sheer size, as does his strength.

What do you think? Over powering, or fit for one of that stature?

Points - ???

Okay. Find this the other night online BOLS. How would you model this monster? Remember he's gotta be taller and bigger than a standard SM but not necessarily in Termie armor....

Well I purchased the Citadel airbrush set, with propellant, cleaner, and one bottle of GW SW Grey. On second thought maybe I should have gone with a Citadel color cuz GW didnt seem to like to work. Either it was the mix or me, not sure which.

Plus when I got the airbrush it had a twenty dollar sticker on the front. What I didnt see was the $30 sticker on the back....

Needless to say I will order from the net and it will be a cold day among the Salamanders Chapter before I shop there again.

Any suggestions on how to get the airbrush to work properly?
