I don't think Blood Claws, Scouts and stuff like priests would make 3000.

 

And Space Marines too old to fight, that's just plain nonsense. Considering the Iron Hands and their insane modifications, there is most likely nothing as "too crippled for bionics". You can fix anything with bionics, since Space Marines are very tough. If you are THAT badly hurt, but won't get a Dread, you simply die.

See, the problem there is that you are comparing us to Iron Hands, Space Wolves are the proudest men in the Imperium. Alot of them would gladly retire to beating the blood claws in the face to show them how to take a punch.

 

It says in the Codex that very few space wolves fall to chaos because the three things a space wolf wants are always readily available, good food, good ale and a good brawl. Good Food and Ale are provided by the multitude of servitors and the like in The Fang and a good brawl, well I'm pretty sure starting a punch up with a full pack of blood claws constitutes a good brawl. In other words, Space Wolves would be perfectly happy beating up on each other in the fang if they were to injured to be on the front lines.

I think its around the 3k mark for standard wolves and around the 10k mark if we are taking into account the number of boys who will show up to defend terra on our behalf.

 

Ragnar has 200 battle-hardened warriors, that doesnt include blood claws, im betting a fair few of his wolf guard (he went blood claw to wolf guard so I'm going to assume a fair number of his boys do the same) and all the Priests come from the Great Wolf's company, not Grimnars, they are seperate.

 

So Ragnar has 200, everyone else probably has around 150, Grimnar has >200 plus the Great Wolf Company, which is probably around 500 (rune priests, iron priests, wolf priests, they initiates for each of the orders and the servitors/wolf backup)

 

Thats 2400 Space Wolves without including the Blood Claws, and given our methods of breaking in the new recruits, we probably need a substantial amount of them.

 

But if we are to go by the guys who will show up to defend terra on our behalf, I'm guessing 10k easily, all of our renegade companies and the 13th, even though they are renegade, they would listen to the great wolf at a time like that.
