Psychic powers and the grand scheme of things.

Well as a bit of a departure from the ongoing question of what the future is for the =][= I've been pondering how to take my GT list further should the UK GT raise the pts limit from 1500 to 1750.

Now for those who have kept up with my general play lists you'll know I'm a SoB purist and a committed footslogger at that, but with the prospect of having an additional 250pts to play around with I'm left with somethng of a quandry in terms of how do I upgrade my current 1500pts list to 1750pts.

The main thing here is do I use the pts to buy a DH =][= with mystics and a psychic hood as an upgrade or should I stick with pure SoB and go with Seraphim and a flying nun to bulk out my list of 4x14 sisters, 3 exorcists & an immolator with celestians?

I'm open to suggestions at the moment as everyting has pros and cons but I guess the real issue is shousld I sell my soul and go with a diluted list rather than pure SoB?

The forum is open, try to convince me either way...

Which do you have a better feeling with? I feel like the toughest opponents rely not on their army build but rather the character of their units, to act comfortably and confidently with them. So, do you feel like you can incorporate the protective abilities of the Inquisitor into your army without him becoming a hindrance in kill points and lack of firepower? Or do you feel better about going a more traditional route, adding another long reaching arm to expand your options when striking your enemy? Personally, I would rather look at adding a GK hero with hood and retinue but that's just how I run my =I= list. My army's fluff has the sisters working for the Malleus branch, so I don't have to be broken hearted about running a mix force....till the new codex comes out that is.

As much as I love the delicious irony of possibly getting to convince you to use an Inquisitor...

I'd have to say go with your gut and personal feel and attachment to the units. Using what you know and love tends to work out better on the table, as you just use the units appropriately. Trying to force yourself to use a unit because it's better "on paper" usually never works out in my experience.

You do realize that some of the best anti-psyker protection comes in the form of mechanization? ;)
Well, the thing with that is I'd need to do a total rehash of my list, both in terms of list construction and modelling the transports so from a practical perspective...NO! Heh heh heh.
to be honest, I am a Pure GK player, so i know he pride that comes with being able to make the claim that you hold true to the list. How are your sisters armed? and for 250 pts, you can get a base 8-man + Justicar unit for a little CC kick, at the cost of the Puritan-icality (i have NO idea if that works as a word, btw...) of your list. Otherwise.... Seraphim and a Killer Nun arent a bad way to go, but at T3, in 5th ed its way harder to make them survive if they are ever caught against a solid CC unit.
