Dark Angels vs. Space Wolves

I need heroic Stories of the Space Wolves thrashing the Dark Angels. Ones that I can tell late at night on Fenris while tackling the last drop of ale.

My third cousin (yes really) came up for the summer. My wolves had suffered 2 defeats at the hand of his deathwing and we now decided to play a 3000pt game using all of my wolves and just a small portion of his 50 terminators :) . He had 2 land raiders and three dreadnoughts, one with a PC and the othe two with AC. In his LRC he had Belial an interogator chaplain, 4x lightning claw guys, one with a cyclone missile launcher and another with the apothecary upgrade. He also threw in a TH/SS guy into the unit "for giggles". The rest of his army had a number of deathwing squads with AC and a CF and a couple of ravenwing bikes to guide them in. This was way back before the new dex.

 

At first he was confused by my placing of thirty blooclaws on the flanks. Any way to cut a long storey short my first turn of shooting wiped out his dreadnoughts aand bikers. His deathwing deapstruck and mishaped horribly resulting in two destroyed units and the rest posotioned by me well out of the way. On the second turn my blooclaws reached thier goal. The Land raiders. To his shock I told him that all of them had melta bombs. The reasuting detonation of the two raiders killed 6 BC and most of his terminators :tu: At this point he called it a game. Victory for the wolves!

I did not know that all BC can have meltabombs... Where in the Codex it says so? Or You actually meant BC bikers, judging from the fact that they were on Land Raiders on turn 2?

It was in the old dex and the table was my dining room one which is only 3ft wide. Got my old dex to hand here, the wording is "The entire squad may be equipped with krak grenades at 2pts, or melta bombs at 4pts per model." So yeah it was legal. After that battle he stopped deap striking all together and I got mauled :D .

Yeah, and one wolf guard heavy weapon foe every three wolf guard. I had a unit ith 3 Assault cannons in that battle ;)

Well I don't have a story just yet, but I might soon. I've been building and palying a pure DW army for a while. All done and completed and been using for tournies lately. My wife decided to get back into the game but didn't want to return to her Eldar. She picked up the new SW codex and fell in love with them. I got together a list, picked up a battleforce and proxied some other stuff. I fought them with my Ravenguard I'm now building and it's tough going.

 

I told her once she gets the hang of this army and list, I might need to bring out my DW to challenge it a Lion vs Wolf kind of way. :D I pointed her to the paragraph regarding the history of the rivalry, and thought it amusing that we are playing opposing armies. hehe
