Tank Hunter and Rending

Does a terminator with an assault cannon, who has tank hunter get the rending bonus on either a 5 or 6?

Negative, you only get the rending bonus on a six. Tank Hunters only comes into play as a modifier AFTER both standard rolling and rending.

 

Example:

 

Terminator hits a vehicle and rolls for armor penetration. 6 + d6 (result is 4) + 1 (tank hunters) = 11

Terminator hits a vehicle and rolls for armor penetration. 6 + d6 (result is 6) + d3 (Rending, result is 2) + 1 (tank hunters) = 15
