Just finished fixing my fluff so far i have only really put some meat on the orgins, incident, homeworld still got to meat up the rest just getting a check up on what i have done so far

Origins

The Cerberus Hellhounds chapter were sanctioned by the high lords of terra as part of the 25th founding. They carry the genetic inheritance of the masterful Rogal Dorn, legendary defender of Terra and Primarch of the Imperial Fists. The fledgling Chapter’s birth was one of hardship and pain. During the escort of the new Chapter’s precious gene stock to their new home world they were attacked and overwhelmed. Not only losing half the gene stock but losing many founding imperial fists, including the newly appointed chapter master and his fast attack training veterans. Therefore the chapter took far longer to get up to full strengh and battle readiness. This also had a big factor to play in the anti Ork role they were created for.

The Chapter was originally formed with the sole purpose of defending the Mordant Sector from the ever increasing threat of the Ork. In this role it was deemed by the Inquisition, that the Hellhounds due to their extensive use of heavy weapons and near zero fast attack could be better employed else where. So for the last 200yrs the chapter has been assisting with the investigation of the Necron threat and are first to react to any incursion by the ancient force. This tasking has forced them into small roaming battle fleets that scour the galaxy with the investigation forces of the mechanicum. The chapter still holds a strong presence on Cerberus unwilling to leave their home unprotected because if it was not for the Cerberus populace the chapter would not exist. Loyalty and Protection Above all Else!

Founding Incident

The planet Cerberus was to be the new home of the Hellhounds chapter, although none of the training cadre, including the new chapter master Janus had set foot on this world. The mechanicum of the forge world Metallica had taken delivery of the new chapters equipment consignment from mars. Setting up everything the founding chapter had required on Cerberus, the new fortress keep, starport, supplies, weapons, armour and munitions as a favour to the Founding Unit.On the precursor that the chapter would one day repay the favour to the small forge world. The ageing grand cruiser King Kaizer would serve the chapter in its first and vital role. The ship was operational and battle ready but the Chapter master was not eased buy this, due to the precious cargo the King Kaizer contained. The Chapters precious gene stock. The lack of escort also was becoming apparent to the company. Ships from the imperial navy were due to escort the grand cruiser on its exit from the warp and none had appeared and could not be raised on long range vox.

Suddenly out of nowhere a large raiding force of Black Corsairs emerged from behind the third moon of Cerberus. An epic space battle ensued with the grand cruiser taking critical damage. The ship had been crippled, most systems were down and boarding torpedos had ruptured the hull of the venerable ship. The remaining newly founded force fought their way trough the ship cutting down traitor after traitor marine, a risky but desperate plan formed in the fledgling chapter masters mind they reached the teleporter banks just as the traitorous chaos filth overran the ship. They only had enough time to teleport half the gene seed and themselves to the planets surface. The banks had been damaged and scattered them far from the safety and protection of the fortress. As they teleported the imperial commander of the King Kaizer set the self destruct. The old Ship vaporised with in minutes of the ex – imperial fists arrival planet side taking two the traitorous filths ships with them in a last act of defiance.

The remnants of the Hellhounds had little time to prepare as ruinous drop ships fell from the sky. Janus knowing the enemy would not give up on their prize easily, had his men store the last of the chapter’s future hidden in a cave system and setup a defensive perimeter to prepare for the last stand of the Hellhounds. Wave after wave of helots and traitors broke upon the defenders and with steel resolve were repelled. The Black Corsairs lord appeared and led the final charge locking the troops in a pitch hand to hand battle. Janus and the foul Lord of the dark gods sparred, blow for blow raining on the others opponent. Finally the Dark Lord struck a death blow knocking the commander to the ground. He raised his corrupt weapon to take Janus’s head when a series of whistles screamed over the battle. A large beast took the dark commander from his killing position and savaged him, more beasts smashed into the enemy ripping ceramite and body’s limb from limb. These creatures were the Doberkin dog like beasts that are only native to Cerberus. Following the beasts a rag tag army of tribe’s folk joined the battle. The coalition of Space Marine, Doberkin and Tribesmen finally pushed the invaders from the planet. Unfortunately Janus had been mortally wound and his second in command Brother Liberian Vascass took charge for the chapter until Commander Janus’s interment into the venerable dreadnought armour.

Home World

Located in the Segmentum Ultima on the outskirts of the mordant zone between Kar Duniash and Corinthe in Dominion of Storms. The planet is the only habitable planet of three in the Drago star system. Cerberus has four moons in orbit, that range in cycles the planet itself does not orbit the Drago Star but is fixed in a all year summer cycle. A Day Rotation on Cerberus takes 2.4 terran days.

The planet pe-imperial rule was a post atomic culture but before being reintegrated was scoured and blackened by Ork tribes, Chaos Raiders and vicious civil wars. The once white sand deserts are now polluted yellow brown with the blood of untold millions that have lost their lives on this feudal world. Deep black scars bore into the planet surface a telling sign of its atomic history.

The civilisation is contained in tribal factions that will in-flight and wage upon each other if no outside planetary threat is apparent. The populace is fanatical in their devotion to the Imperium and will give themselves to death for their beloved emperor. Loyalty and faith is the only thing that will bring the savage factions together.

Large dog like beasts are native to Cerberus. The Doberkin, black and tan in colour and half the height of an Astarte’s they can leap and run with tremendous height and speed the Doberkin are deadly creatures. These creatures roam the wastes of Cerberus in large packs and have been known in some instances to protect the population from attack. Some tribes have employed this dog like creature as protection for their villages and townships. When tamed these protectors are the definition of loyalty and devotion to its master. Legend has it that when man first reached out from terra to the stars they brought this dog creature whos name is long lost to time with them, many millennia on Cerberus has caused the beast to become what it is, or so the myths and legends say.

Good lad....

Now then...

I have a hard time understanding what the Chapter is all about. There is a lot of things going on, but i don't see a 'reason' for it. They experience a terrible event at the start of their career, but it doesn't seem to have an effect on their beliefs and character. They were meant to fight orks, but ended up fighting Necrons. They roam the galaxy in large fleets, but they refuse to abandon their home world completely. A lot of things, but none of it seems to 'go anywhere', if you catch my drift. There isn't one core theme that binds everything together. Plus, the writing can be bit difficult to understand, and you mention a lot of names that I think you could have left out.

Think of your Chapter, and try to figure out what you want out of them. Try to capture the nature/theme/beliefs of the Chapter with only one sentance. That might help you with pinpointing where you want to steer your article.

i have made lots of changes to most of the article and think my direction is now clear

we fight necron

we are a cross between black templars as devoted fanactical drive and spacewolves with the savagery and use of doberkin

history now robbs us of fast attack explaining the use of heavy weapon suiting us more for necron engagments

loyalty and faith which stems form the planets fanactical beliefs and the faith and resolve the founding imperial fists brought with them also the protective nature of the doberkin ingraining itself on the chapter.

hope this helps let me know what you think

You ask for it. B)

#1 Inquisition doesn't exist.

#2 Astartes are their own masters.

#3 So, who defend the Mordant Sector from Ork menace? :P

So for the last 200yrs the chapter has been assisting with the investigation of the Necron threat and are first to react to any incursion by the ancient force. This tasking has forced them into small roaming battle fleets that scour the galaxy with the investigation forces of the mechanicum.

Necrons are as common as the Easter Rabbit, ie. not very.

Having a Chapter to deal with them will be massive vaste of the Emperor's Finest.

Grand Cruiser in SM fleet is big no-no.

Secondly, if the GC wait for the escorts. How it come it is above the Cerberus, its destination, not at the start of travel? ;)

Wave after wave of helots and traitors broke upon the defenders and with steel resolve were repelled.

No wonder the Calgar and Creed are called tactical geniuses in this universe. :P

Unfortunately Janus had been mortally wound and his second in command Brother Liberian Vascass took charge for the chapter until Commander Janus’s interment into the venerable dreadnought armour.

Liberian?

Cerberus has four moons in orbit, that range in cycles the planet itself does not orbit the Drago Star but is fixed in a all year summer cycle.

I don't understand.

Organisation.

Why is Janus Chapter Master and why is the Second-in-command the LIBERIAN?

The second-in-command is usually the 1st co. Captain.

FIGHTING STYLE = Limited fast attack make more use of heavy support and close combat troops. Due to the heavy support nature of the chapter and the founding incident that robbed them of their fast attack capabilities they are suited for battle with the necron but the feral nature of the brothers draw them close into hand to hand combat. With the savagery of the Doberkin at their side

Doesn't make sence.

They like either tearing the enemy in close combat or shooting him with heavy weapons. Not both at the same time.

Which is instilled in the battle brother within the chapterss battle rights the Cerberus oath of Protection and the imperial protectors creed. Anti-Ork - which empire? This sounds a lot like a similar thread for the Angels Vengeance - major founding failure and death of training cadre etc etc. High Lords deem, Inquisitors act... Astartes owe no loyalty to the =][= - I would say that maybe the chapter acedes to more than average requests from Rogue Traders leading mechanicum and other explorator fleets to have squads attached to them, maybe to get battle experience in the larger Imperial war machine without risking the whole chapter...

Founding Incident

The planet Cerberus was to be the new home of the Hellhounds chapter, although none of the training cadre, including the new chapter master Janus had set foot on this world. The mechanicum of the forge world Metallica had taken delivery of the new chapters equipment consignment from mars. Why would a marine chapter leave the docks of Mars on a "Grand Cruiser" - a ship type that the High Lords and Imperial Navy especially, would be very nervous about a marine chapter possessing? Older chapters with teh contacts - maybe they can get by, but the Seddito Opitere is a difficult enough prospect for the Navy to deal with being a lance armed barge, let along a Grand cruiser which is mobile, heavily anti-capital ship armed and presumably quite long-ranged.

A new marine chapter would almost certainly NOT be given just one capital ship, a small fleet yes - one large capital ship, probably no..

Metalica is not a small forge world BTW, it is home of the Iron Skulls Titan legion. And it is local to Armageddon...one of the most militarised sectors in the Imperium (even before Thraka..). Also - is Mordant not the name of an imperial planet as well (that's not a biggie - just might be confusing..)

As for teh wave after wave bit - bad guys are normally a lot sneakier than that - these are Chaos space marines and their diabolic allies, not just mutant hordes (otherwise how did they blow an Imperial capital ship out of space?)

Check your stellar cartography to ensure that the Mordant system can practically lie between those areas...and be near Armageddon.. How does a planet NOt orbit the star? maybe it doesn't have SEASONS as the orbit is not elliptiocal (an effect of the 4 moons maybe?).

Is the planet NOW feudal? Having once been Atomic? Sounds a lot like Baal...

Use punctuation:

Large dog like beasts are native to Cerberus, the Doberkin. These are black and tan (how? stripes, spots? does it matter?) in colour and are 4 feet tall at the shoulder. They can leap to a great tremendous height and and run with speed: the Doberkin are deadly creatures.

Kangaroos are fast and can jump, but I doubt they can pose much of a threat to an Astartes - why are these creatures so deadly/vicious/powerful?

HOMEWORLDS EFFECT ON CHAPTER = expremely loyal to the imperial cause. Fiercely protective of their home world and brothers. wary of outsiders and don’t work well with other chapters. Apart from parent chapters the imperial fist and crimson fist they refer to them as great fists, Have been referred to as nearly feral and fierce as the space wolves. the hellhounds have incorparated the doberkin into the chapter

Name me a chapter that doesn't have most of teh attributes above? And how does a chapter have 2 parent chapters? Were their training cadre shared between teh CFs and the Imp Fists? Why would they work so well with other sons of Dorn and not others? The Crrimson Fists especially are very wary of other chapters - in fact they have been responsible for purging a fair few that were borderline heretical or mutant. What about the Templars? Any ties with them?

What are the Doberkin? They don't really appear hard enough (Fenrisian wolves are the size of a small tank in some instances..)

This is a dichotomy that doesn't make sense - Space Wolves are equipped for close-quarters fighting and have a fair degree of Fast Attack units and armour to do this. Blood Angels are teh very epitme of a close combat force, and they have large deployable numbers of JP troops. Why would a chapter be "feral" just because it likes CC or why would a Feral chapter (with all the tech and training of a marine chapter) have disregard to the method of warfare that plays to their strengths and limits casualties (long ranged shooting matches - SM tend to win except against Guard...) ?

BELIEF SYSTEM AND EFFECTS =Protection of the emperors’ realm is paramount above all things. Astartes owe no loyalty to the =][=

Incorrect. Legally if a Chapter is loyal to the Emperor then they are answerable to the Inquisitors, and if they are not answerable to the Inquisitors then they are not loyal to the Emperor. That is the consequences of an Inquisitor wielding the authority of the Emperor.

In practice, however, the Astartes seem independent because Guilliman's reforms have already instituted a system for policing the Astartes by making them watch each other. This means the Inquisitors can use a hand-off approach (except for some very important things like gene-seed tithes and ship restrictions) and allow the Astartes to maintain their traditional independence. Of course, they'll still step in if the Chapters fail to police themselves and each other. Ultimately all the independence of a Chapter and all the benefits it brings are worthless when compared to the possibility of a second Heresy.

The best bit? Your so-called "brother" Chapters will often be the ones enforcing Inquisitorial sanction against you, in line with Guilliman's policing structure. Either that or they just came along to help because they were 'annoyed' at you for besmirching the honour of the Astartes.

Other than that, the same as what NightrawenII said.

Loyalty to the =][= is often looked down upon (Inquisition's lapdogs etc) - they are answerable to them of course, and show allegaince too the High Lords via the =][= because they have to otherwise they die..rather subtley in some instances or as an example in others.

However, the mandate for a chapter, apart from the Ghostbusters, comes from the High Lords and Terra directly, not from the =][=. The =][= will use a chapter for its own neds and may request the resources as part of THEIR mandate, but in most fluff instances I can think of, these have been requests rather than out-right demands for materiel
