Brother Caleb
As I understand it, the bug cloud counts as offensive and defensive grenades. Defensive 'nades prevent on from getting the +1A when charging. However, what about when the plague marines charge a unit with counter attack? Does the assaulted unit get its +1A? At first I thought, yes. The marines were not prepared to receive a charge. But, then remembered that the cloud counts as defensive 'nades. Because the plague marines are not actually throwing 'nades but are simply benefiting from a swarm of bugs obscuring the enemies view and such, it seems that the assaulted unit would not get the benefit of counter attack. Grey Mage
They dont get to throw defensive grenades when they assault, so you would get counter-attack. Ashe Darke
Not that the FAQ is official, only the Errata, the GW SW FAQ (lots of acronyms) says no to Blight Grenades or similar working against counter-attack. Although the Nurgle Daemon's Cloud of Flies should work according to the fluff but fluff =/= rules and so that one is a no go as well. Duke Corwin
Counter attack is not assault. That's why Ragnar can't use his special assault rules when counter attacking and why blood claws only get +1 attack. Thus defensive grenades don't work against it.
