Phodos
If an enemy Psycher passes a test in range of a Rune Priest's Runic Weapon and I fail the roll to stop him, and the unit he is trying his power at has a WTT do I still get the 5+ nullify from the WTT as well, or does the Rune Priest one make me unable to stop it with any more dice rolls. I do know that i cant take several Runic Weapon saves, just wasnt sure if the WTT one stacked or not. stinkenheim
any rune priest in range can cancel out the power (so if you had three in rang then all three could try) and then if someone in the unit it was affecting had a WTT they could also try and stop it. it makes SWs one of the best armies for magic defence Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/202344-wolf-tail-talisman/#findComment-2410969 Share on other sites
Phodos
Page 36, Runic Weapon, replace the fourth sentence with: Furthermore, whenever an enemy model succeeds on a Psychic test within 24" of one or more models with a Runic Weapon, roll a dice – Taken directly from the errata for SW, one roll regardless of number of rune priests Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/202344-wolf-tail-talisman/#findComment-2410970 Share on other sites
Grey Mage
Yep, Runic Weapon save, WTT save, and then Runic Armor save if applicable.... Its pretty nice. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/202344-wolf-tail-talisman/#findComment-2410971 Share on other sites
Stormbrow II
It's actually the opposite of what you suggest Phodos - the Rune Weapon is one per psychic test while the WTT's stack. If you have 3 in a unit you'll roll 3 dice to stop it. Phodos
oh that's cool storm, i wasnt even considering multiple wtt  It just looked to me like stinkenheim was saying all the RP get to roll thier dice(the 4+), wich led to my second post Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/202344-wolf-tail-talisman/#findComment-2410976 Share on other sites
stinkenheim
good catch on that, never noticed that before, but as i have never taken more than one RP its never been an issue for me. i just recalled the debates originally about whether you could use multiple RWs or not and never realised they had ammended it. Yep,explained in the 2009 FAQ. But yes it does bring about reasons to give them to your characters...after all...its a 5 point 5+ invulnerable save to psychic powers for your entire squad. Hard to beat that. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/202344-wolf-tail-talisman/#findComment-2411035 Share on other sites
Marmande
Not so sure if the WTTs stack, but I agree that it would go Runic Weapon -> WTT ->Runic Armor. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/202344-wolf-tail-talisman/#findComment-2411063 Share on other sites
