maverike_prime
http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a316/maverike_prime/Warhammer/adeptus_models.jpg Okay, my eyes are ready to fall out of my skull. Translation: These conversions, despite not being done are being put on hold. I don't know when I will get back to them, but I am NOT working on them tomorrow!!! I've just spent most of the last 48 hours working on them and I think I got the urge to Adeptus Custodes out of my system for now. I know they're not 100% accurate to the drawings, but I think I did a reasonable job with them so far. As always, honest comments, critiques, and criticisms are welcomed and encouraged. Here are more pics. If you have any question, post 'em. Answering them will help me not work on them right now. http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a316/maverike_prime/Warhammer/Adeptus_custodes_01-3.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a316/maverike_prime/Warhammer/Adeptus_custodes_01-2.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a316/maverike_prime/Warhammer/Adeptus_custodes_01-1.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a316/maverike_prime/Warhammer/Adeptus_terminator-head_shot-2.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a316/maverike_prime/Warhammer/Adeptus_terminator-head_shot.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a316/maverike_prime/Warhammer/Adeptus_terminator-heavy_flammer.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/202364-adeptus-custodes/ Share on other sites
commander alexander
Where did you get the head of the flamer from? They look pretty good in my opinion. I've seen many custodes conversions, and very few are really close to the artwork. KolliIronbear
Very interesting flamer you've made :) Good use for chaos bits on loyalists. I really like the eagle wing shroud you've built for the one, and the halberd on the other looks very much the part. The only possible qualm I might have is with the length of the flamer. I would love to see the flamer nozzle about 5mm closer to the body of the gun. And that's just personal aesthetic choices I'm talking about. Enjoy your break from the custodes - it's well deserved :) Kolli Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/202364-adeptus-custodes/#findComment-2411226 Share on other sites

I've seen many custodes conversions, and very few are really close to the artwork. You mean the head of the flamer? or the head of the guy holding the flammer? In the case of the flamer itself, it's from the Chaos Vehicle upgrade sprue. If you look at this piece of artwork you see the Custodes are using what I'm calling Dragon Lance style Flamers. http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/7760069/images/1264391028586.jpg The only possible qualm I might have is with the length of the flamer. It was poor planning on my part. When I originally built the flamer I built it to be as close in design to the artwork as possible. If you look at the terminator on the left you'll see that his Dragon Lance is about as tall as his armor is. So I tried to make the bit about the same length. Well that worked out nicely. The problem I ran into is I couldn't position the arms the way I wanted to it. Initially I was gonna have the arm holding the flamer lower, and further back relative to the body, while the left arm came across the torso and was holding the body, or the second grip. Well... the terminator kits aren't designed to work like that. If I had managed to position the body and arms the way I had originally intended I think it would have dealt with the length of the flamer somewhat.
