Durus
Just out of curiosity: What exactly do you mean by "draw"? Because if you want to use it with Auto CAD shouldn't it be at least in a vector based format? And if you don't want them in a higher resolution or as vector shape why do you need to recreate them at all? +edit+ By the way, CorelDraw should be able to generate vectors automatically with the black and white pic you have there. I would like it in a vector shape so I could adjust size to what ever I need without losing resolution. The only reason I would like them redone is because currently the resolution is crap. If I used CorelDraw now on my existing, would they clean up enough? I really need a crisp image for my plans hence why I am looking for a redo of them. Durus
I haven't really played much with the feature, so I'm not quite sure. It might end up "pseudo pixelated" because it's such a small resolution, but I would still try it. Maybe you could ask somebody in a copy shop to try it out for you if you don't have CD yourself. Some shops could probably trace the image for you as well(for outrageous prices of course). I only have photoshop and If I'm not mistaken I could export paths as an Illustrator file. But I don't have a lot of time at the moment, so unless you need one of the Icons specifically instead of the whole sheet I probably won't be able to help you. And I never exported an AI file with photoshop so I can't guarantee that it will work. On the other hand I could give you the image in any resolution you need once I had traced them. I just though you might want to use the images with a milling machine or a plotter or something like that so that a vector based output would be required. Red Fury
I could vectorize it for cutting but you wouldn't be able to resize it. You need to resize it first and then vectorize it to create a drawing to write your g-code from. I only run bob-cad here but my neighbor runs correll-draw and sign-lab and one from adobe too I think. What is the end goal here though? Do you want them cut out? or is it just to have the images with a higher res? -Fury Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/202366-looking-for-an-artist/#findComment-2412394 Share on other sites
Grimtooth
I have a place that might be able to laser cut styrene for me and need to send them a clean image in one of those formats to see if they can even do it first before I move on. Red Fury
My neighbor has two laser cncs, I run a router cnc. I think he charges something like 40 buck to cut a 4x4 of anything. I'm in southern California so shipping wouldn't be bad. Let me know if you want me to ask him. -Fury Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/202366-looking-for-an-artist/#findComment-2413168 Share on other sites
Zode
Do you have access to AutoCAD? If so just import the file into a drawing, blow it way up and then trace the outlines with a line tool. That's what my friend and I have done before and it works great, you don't even need to be a good artist.
