Alba
Hi All, I have only just started playing 40k again and i've got a qww question that i'm hoping you fine brothers may be able to help me with. My friends and I have been playing a type of game that our local club use to get folk back into 40k. Here are the basic rules: Winner is determined by victory points. List must be no more than 400 points. List must include at least 1 troop choice. You may include an HQ. No special characters allowed. No 2+ saves. No single model may have more than 2 wounds. Vehicle armour values must be equal to or less than 33 overall. WYSIWYG! Lists must have model representation. I will be playing against: Nids, CSM (Plague Marines) Tau, Dark Eldar and Orks. I was planning on having a ten man Grey Hunter squad and a unit of Long Fangs probably with missile launchers, the rest i'm not too sure on, should still have 100 odd points to play with. Any Ideas?? S. Bloodhowl
I'd take either a Lone wolf or some fenrisian wolves personally, or maybe 5 wolf scouts with melta and power weapon (exactly 100pts) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/202406-400-point-army-and-feel-no-pain/#findComment-2411822 Share on other sites
DapperDave
Maybe use the 100 points for a unit of scouts or a rune priest? Other less exotic options would be more grey hunters or blood claws; more exotic would be fenrisian wolves, sky claws, or a land speeder. If you wanted to introduce armor, you could always add a razorback. I guess my point is, there's plenty of options, but it depends on what you're looking to get from games. If you're looking to win, add units with high model counts (i find the lower the points game, the hordier the list is, the stronger it is) if you're looking to spice games up or go with a particularly fluffy list, go with some of the more specialized choices. Alba
I was thinking maybe a landspeeder with missile launchers and multi melta's or possibly a whirlwind for some banter. Also meant to say, if anyone has a good 400point army list please drop it into the topic, i'll play test it and let you know what happens :P ALSO - this is the question I forgot to ask in the original post: Is it possible to give my chaps Feel No Pain? I know the Lone Wolf gets it, but are there any characters or is there any wargear that will let me use it? Blarmb
More Long Fangs if it's a standard size table. If the table is shrinking along with the points value some Lone Wolves. Just 35 points with a power weapon, at low point value three of those guys are going to cause damage to most things that'll be hitting the table. Long fangs blow apart the rest. wiplash
landspeeder with heavy flamer and typhoon missile launchers = 90pts = ausome great against all units most things with high toughness only go up to T8 and Missile Launchers are S8, in combination with your long fangs (5 missile launchers, firing at 2 targets?) you will instant kill with no save (unless invulnerable) heavy flamers are great for taking out squads of troops, and then firing frag missiles into the squad that same turn will most likely wipe them out then use the remaining 10 points to buy a banner for the grey hunters squad, so you can re-roll all 1's in one round of combat, a definate game changer at low point games Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/202406-400-point-army-and-feel-no-pain/#findComment-2412723 Share on other sites
Alba
Cheers for all the replies brothers, i've been stuck at home with a nice dose of food poisoning so i've been reading the forum like a damn novel ;) Does anyone know about the Feel No Pain rule? I know that the lone wolves get it, but is there anyone else that can have it?
