Faq contradiction

FAQ as stated in the rulebook Faq page

Q. If models disembark from a transport into

dangerous terrain, do they take a dangerous

terrain test? Unlike Pile-in or Consolidation

moves, disembarking does not specifically states

that it doesn't trigger dangerous terrain tests.

A. Dangerous terrain says you test for every

model that has 'entered, left or moved through'

the terrain. As there is no exception in the text,

disembarking models do have to test. However, if

they disembark at the beginning of their move

and then move after the disembarkation, only one

test is needed, not two.

Tempest Wrath FAQ from SW Faq page

Q. The description of the Rune Priest psychic

power Tempest’s Wrath states that some units

within of 24" of the Rune Priest treat all terrain

as difficult and dangerous terrain. According to

the rulebook, disembarking is not subject to

difficult and dangerous terrain effects. So can

we assume a unit disembarking from a transport

vehicle into cover whilst within of 24" of the

Rune Priest wouldn’t have to take a test for

dangerous terrain?

A. Correct, but remember that the Tempest’s

Wrath may affect them later that turn.

looks like the SW Faq was written without looking at the rulebook faq. just seems really odd to me(My codex isnt here atm so it might be a wording issue with Tempest Wrath? maybe what units it effects or something)

Good thing Codex trumps main Rulebook, aye? :P

The SW codex doesn't change the BRB rule on disembarking. The FAQ was an interpretation based on an old rule.

I believe the BRB FAQ post-dates the SW FAQ and the BRB FAQ would control because the Tempest's Wrath doesn't change an existing rule. It works with it.

Actually, I think you're correct, Tigurius. The wording on the Wolf FAQ (upon closer examination, silly me for skimming) simply states they take the Disembark Dangerous. It says that units -may- have to take further tests later on, but it is incredibly vague, meaning assault, or fall-back... or whatever... but it is by no means exclusive.

I retract my former, hastier statement in regards to this matter, and instead state it as a general rule regarding Codex overriding BRB as a point of enjoyment.
