theonelawler
Does anyone know the fluff behind the Fenrisian wolves Svangir and Ulfgir that Ragnar Blackmane can take? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/202459-ragnar-blackmane/ Share on other sites
hmk17
There is no set fluff, though my guess is that goes toward thinly veiled theme in the codex of Ragnar seeming to be a shadow of Leman Russ. As Russ had two Blackmane wolves (Freki & Geri) accompany him. However, many warriors bred/took "bodyguard" dogs, wolves, or other animals into battle with them over the centuries. Pull out the DVD of Gladiator and watch the battle scene at the beginning. The Xbox/PS3 game, Dragon Age, also has a good display of this. Logan230
Hmm, I will have to check my sources but I think Russ had a Blackmane, and a White maned Wolf, kinda a ying-yang thing. Now that I think about it, I think its in A Thousand Sons. Cant prove it atm though, my buddy is borrowing it. hmk17
I went by what the codex happened to say on p.31. I recall something about 1 being black and the other white, as well. I'll look it up later. Suffice, albinism can occur in any creature. Just because its white fur on one does not discount the sub-species of wolf (blackmane) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/202459-ragnar-blackmane/#findComment-2413251 Share on other sites
