Wolf Lord

Yesterday I began work on a Wolf Lord for my army. I wasn't sure whether to put this in here or in the Work In Progress thread in the Painting Section. I decided on here so I can get more opinions from my Wolf Brothers.

I am planning on using GS on the back of the wolf head and down the cloak, to make it more pelt like. I still feel he may be missing something though. All thoughts would be very much appreciated. Having looked at the photos, I can also see a few mould lines that I missed last night, which will be sorted before painting.

Very nice where did you get the Wolf head out of curiosity? Also...I think part of the problem is the shield. It seems a bit too Imperium and not enough Wolf to me. If you got a steady hand with a modeling knife you could scrape the eagle off,and take the Wolf Head banner from the Grey hunters pack, shave the back off and glue it to the front of the shield. Or alternately use another banner or GS something wolfy on it.

Grey Mage - Spot on with the wolf head. Looking at it now, it does look massive on there, it didnt seem that big with the model in hand!

Requiem - I can see what you mean with the Storm Shield, my Wolf Priest has the same type of eagle on the end of his crozius, but I may wolf up the shield face a bit as well.

I actually like it. Despite being having their own flavor and being quite divergent, SWs are still loyal members of the Imperium. It's nice to see that come out a little bit sometimes.

To my mind I felt the Imperial commendation seals on the outside of the shield covered that angle well enough. I admit my view on shield heraldry is probably influenced by my time in the SCA but still. I feel especially as a Wolf Lord, that the Central image should befit his station. You might consider popping the Company symbol on the Shield if you are able to either freehand it or GS it,I think that would look amazing tbh.
