Guardians of the Covenant

Hi all,

I finally found time to paint/finish my GotC. Looked at some other (old ?) threads and I just hope those marines are not left to collect dust on a shelf...

Anyway: I've picked up those nifty crossed-swords shoulderpads from GW back then. But now I cant find them in their online shop anymore. Anyone still know if they still sell them, and if so, what's the part number ?

Painting the crossed swords by hand wont really work for me, I'm decent with a brush but rubbish with free hand. And I dont really like decals, too... :P

I need another 10 at least, possibly 20 if I ever want to field a dev-squad or 2. So if anyone out there has the partnumber, please help.

And also, if anyone out there (still ?) paints Guardians of the Covenant, please post too ! They are far too nice a chapter to be forgotten. :)

Best regards,

F&S

unfortunately gw don't sell them anymore but i did see not long ago a site that does but can't remeber for the life of me where. sorry mate

GotC will never be forgotten with me as they are being used in an idea i have been discussing on here for a while along with a number of other successors

I started a Demi squad of GotC vets and my kid saw the one I started and wanted to finish the squad and here it sits...

I'm using some really old decals so I cant help you with the part #. Do you feel able to make a Greenstuff mold of one of the pads and make your own icons from more greenstuff to glue to plastic pads?

Yeah, I was thinking about the GS-route... but I'm a lot of shoulderpads short, too ;) .

That's what happens if you move and sell your stuff I guess.

Still, too bad they dont sell them anymore. Could really use them.

I've undercoated another 8 today, probably will (speed ?) paint them soon. Just to make sure they are ready for a tournament. Probably nowhere near the standards most of you here are used too, but then again I want them painted :)

I can always go back to them and refurbish them a little...

One thing that I've always thought about doing for the Dark Angel winged sword was making a stencil with green stuff so that I could quickly and easily paint it perfectly on each shoulder pad. I haven't done it though, so I couldn't give you pointers.
