Baal Predators vs Land Raiders

Recommended Posts

Well if points were not an issue...A Land Raider Redeemer is pretty awsome and pretty BA too. You get the TL Asscannon AND Flamestorm cannons AND AV14 AND and it's an assault transport, what's not to like. I always go with a pair of Baals though, and I don't think a regular LR isn't very fitting.

When all my opponent sees is a single LRC coming across the table on Turn 1 he's not too impressed. But then on Turn 2 when I roll for a pair of Baal Preds that can Outflank him AND an LRR that can deep strike in next to my DPd DC Dread, then he gets scared of BLOOD ANGELS!!! So, a pair of each for me since we are blessed with an abundance.

Well, as you cant actually take a LR as anythig other than a transport, if you're hoping to fill a FOC slot then you actually have to take the Baal.

If points are no pbject, then the LR wins, as its tougher, more shooty and can transport a squad.

However, the Baal is faster, almost as shooty, can outflank, and is nearly HALF the points.

Compare a £50 bottle of wine with a £4 obttle of wine. Sure the £50 bottle is probably nice, but you know you're only going to walk out of the shop with a £4 bottle to go with your pizza.

Actually, I am trying to get some firepower for my army, so slots are not an issue.

^ I agree.

Using two tanks is always better than one. More targets forces your opponents to split fire and not focus on only one. In addition to the increased maneuverability, the baals have the ability to scout letting you get in your opponents face from the start or outflank to keep them playing a defensive battle.
