Taeken
Ok, I recently aquired a awesomely done Logan Grimnar courtesy of DV8 <high five> for a school project of my daughter's; and my use after she is done with him. My question is concerning the Relentless rule. Since the rule allows you to shoot and assult when you'd otherwise normaly not be able to; does this apply to drop pods? IE could I slap Logan in with a group of Wolf Guard & Arjac, drop them down in the middle of my enemy as normal. But be able to shoot & assult? Or does the drop pod no assulty rule overide that? And yes, I know that would be one very spendy Hammer unit. It just sounds fun to try. Quillen
The FAQ says he can allow Long Fangs to fire after landing from a pod. But I think he can not attack (charge) after podding. wiplash
relentless affects moving and shooting relentless gives the squad the ability to move and fire heavy/rapid fire weapons as if they were assault weapons this means that whilst you can shoot after moving out of the drop pod with a heavy/rapid fire weapon you can't then go onto assault as you can't normally assault out of a DP hope i have worded that to make sense Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/202637-logan-and-the-relentless-rule/#findComment-2414951 Share on other sites

Relentless has no direct interaction with the assault rule and therefore no interaction with drop pod assault rules. The rule changes your movement status so you are not restricted by heavy weapons and rapid fire rules. Taeken
Slightly off topic but what on earth could your daughter be doing with Logan as a school prodject? <_< Well her school has what is called a Passion Project. Basically its a year long project that they do on their "passion" Can be anything, hers is on Painting & Converting of Mini's. There has to be lots of sources of info, an interview, 1800 word essay, Power Point Presentation, and class room activity. DV8 was kind enough to help her/us out with some other things as well as painting a very nice Logan. It will be used as the centerpeice of her demo & Power Point (besides her Chaos Marines and my SW's). Basically she is using one of our Dad / daughter activities for school. Needless to say I am happy to help as needed. DV8
*high fives back* It was a fun model to paint, and I enjoyed experimenting with the color scheme. As for your original query: Heavy Weapons require the user to remain stationary in their movement phase in order to fire, and in the assault phase, models which have fired Heavy Weapons may not launch an assault. Relentless is a USR that allows any unit to count automatically as "stationary" when firing any weapon type, regardless of whether they've moved or not (although Bikes that Turbo-boost may not fire). If you fire Heavy Weapons and are Relentless, you are then also allowed to launch an Assault, as per the normal rules (charge what you shoot, assuming you can reach). Deep Strike of any kind by any means (Drop Podding is one of them) prevents you from making any Assault move of any type. So having Relentless doesn't change this because having Deep Struck precludes you from launching an Assault anyways. So a Long Fang pack with Heavy Weapons and Logan giving Relentless can land and fire their weapons the turn they do, but may not charge into Assault that same turn. Taeken
Lol Well sons have to forge their own way in life. Let him do his thing, but each and every time you 2 play.. completely destroy him. :) Then he will see the error of his ways ) I agree on the awesomeness :) And lets just say "homework" is pretty cool too. Requiem of the Wolf
[Your offspring is choosing DA!!!?Did you properly administer the newborn ax handle test brother? In fact I did not,as he is my oldest,I was still in a state of panic at the time. Though I do feel he at least in part came into this world the right way,as Army of Darkness was playing on the TV as he was born, and one of the first things he did after the doctor handed him to me was roll his head to look at it. Though I do think that a good part of his decision came from his mother wanting to play Ravenguard. So he immediately stated that he wanted to play that too. And after I pointed out that it would be confusing having two of the same armies,he decided on Knights of the Raven. I think the decision to not play Wolves was also influenced by not wanting to have the same armies. And after all,It could be far worse...he could be wanting to play Blood Angels. However,Thanks to the SCA he is quite skilled for his age in the use of sword and shield so I cant complain at all. At one point she painted up a unit of Bretonnian knights with every coat of Arms in the Swiss registry. It was an awesome looking unit that she ended up giving away to someone that would actually use it years ago. Anyways..When I was talking with the kiddo about the options, the mention of Raven Guard had her ears perking up and going "oo...that is something I want to do" lol. Chances are good they will end up playing occasionally but no where near as often as me lol. Still it will be fun to share an evening blasting the heck out of each other lol.
