Grey Mage
Because you cant shoot from a vehicle that moved more than 6". Its what protects us from the DE. And of course hed have to be softened up already, hes a greater daemon after all. As for tempests wrath he moves "as if equiped with a jumppack" models equiped with jump packs count TWs area of effect as Difficult and Dangerous... so should he. But the problem with that is he acts as if equipped with a jump pack, and the effect says it affects jump infantry. Unfortunately I allready tried that, and he pointed out the difference. And unlike many of his actions, this one was actually supported by the rule book. Ah, see and my local group decided to allow jump infantry to use their "walk" ability to avoid it, wich in turn showed moving as jump infantry to be jump infantry for movement related purposes. Wich is the basic argument- for the purposes of movement they are jump infantry, much like a chaos daemon prince with wings etc. Though I fully acknowledge not all groups play that way. Since TW is triggered by movement, it works that way. *shrugs* Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/202651-would-be-a-cool-model/page/2/#findComment-2417376 Share on other sites

Though does that make more sense on why I want to blast Mephiston on Turn 1 so I don't have to worry about him interfering? Not to mention its unbelievable how freaking lucky he is with psychic hood. It's horrid =( Not to mention I only need to fail one roll to get boned for that round. Anyways...I have been working on it, I think I have worked out how to do it. Also what the heck is a Land speeder Typhoon? I am confused..I havent used Land speeders before either...so any advice on those would be awesome. hmk17
Landspeeder Typhoons are the Missile Launcher Variant. Capable of dropping 2 Krak or Frag Missiles a turn. Prot
There might be some merit in trying to play off Logan Grimnar against Mephiston. I've read some bat reps where these two actually go blow for blow. Just a thought. I would also consider a dual Murderous Hurricane list. Hurricane should slow anything down.... The reason I say this is because I fight some guys that play pretty hardcore BA and it is my opinion that Wolves are NOT on par in assault with BA. This is just my personal experience against some of the more.... abusive elements of the BA codex. (Though truthfully I have never played against someone who used Mephiston in this edition of the codex). What I found personally is there are two elements that BA do really, really well: move fast, and hit hard in HtH. I play against Priest armies with skimmers, and dreads. So I can only speak from my exposure to BA. I really like the idea of taking away 'fast' and 'hand to hand' from BA. To me, this is the role of rune priests. Jaws and Hurricane. I do think Wolves shoot better. And we still aren't slouches in hand to hand. If the number one issue you have is Mephiston, I'd tar pit him with Logan. If your number one issue is his speed, I'd Hurricane him. If your number one issue is hand to hand, you really should be able to outshoot him. It's certainly a tough battle. I wish I could see these games because there's always the chance there are tactical errors going on here as well. (On either side) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/202651-would-be-a-cool-model/page/2/#findComment-2417587 Share on other sites

I wish I could see these games because there's always the chance there are tactical errors going on here as well. (On either side) I have no doubt I am making mistakes. I do believe I am making fewer mistakes each game, but yeah I know i am making screw ups somewhere. from the battle reports..Logan is a good counter to Mephiston,But only when accompanied by troops. the other problem is Mephiston shouldn't be engaged with Characters...because of that whole "make leadership at -4 or he gets to reroll hit and wound" that is why I think Arjac Rockfist would be a better option. Considering I am betting he will think it is an independant rather then a upgrade. Then when he can't single it out,I use the wolves he is with as ablative wounds, and then use Arjac to hammer him into putty. Oh bugger...He has to do it at the start of the assault phase...so it only counts if they are allready attacking him. Now I am gonna stuff the rules down his freaking throat again...He has screwed me time and again with not allowing tempest's wrath to be cast once I had allready moved,So I am gonna give the bugger a taste of his own medicine. His statement is that by the rules, since it is to be done at the start of the players turn,it has to be done before anything else. By that same logic, his enthralling gaze has to be done at the start of the assault phase before any movement, including moving into base to base with my Independant Character. With this little tidbit,I am beginning to think that a TW Lord with SS and PF with Saga of the Bear might just be what the doctor ordered. I know for a fact that It will scare the living hell out of any other opponent I play...and now I can use him against Mephiston without trouble *grins* Well...not entirely without trouble but a better then decent chance of making it through. And I know without a doubt that the TW Lord is a amazing unit for an all comers list. It also opens up the possibility of a Logan Grimnir based list too. Hmmm...guess its back to the drawing board yet again...Argh!. Niiai
Please make another thread on discusing how to kill Mephisto. I know my mark of the wolfen WG will not do it by himself. I think I will try to field some of these. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/202651-would-be-a-cool-model/page/2/#findComment-2418183 Share on other sites
