Brother Caleb
Why Njal? He's a hell of a point sink at 1500 pts. I wanted to try his weather effects and he's a RP. He fit the profile from previous suggestions. Also, don't listen to the people suggesting inq/mystics. Have some self respect. We're not IG. We can win with our Codex. HOOAH! Requiem of the Wolf
The nids player is a jerk and just switched to Necrons. ;~] Then as long as you have a decent amount of lascannons to deal with his Monolith. you actually got a easier opponent believe me. Use Njal's chooser 10 inches from the flank of your troops,to prevent him from infiltrating anywhere near you with the flayed guys. Now the Necron's are all about the shooty,at least in my experience...they tend to avoid hand to hand. Also remember that there isn't a single thing in the Necron army that isn't Jaws bait. Even the biggest and baddest can get eaten by the world fairly easily.Nightbringer has I4,Deciever has I5. Brother Caleb
Interesting, he opted for destroyers and pariahs instead of a monolith. Requiem of the Wolf
Interesting, he opted for destroyers and pariahs instead of a monolith. Ok..Gauss cannon (for normal Destroyers) is S6 AP4 Heavy 3. But they are able to move and shoot with them. Heavy Gauss Cannon (for Heavy Destroyers) is S9 AP2 Heavy 1. So its a Lascannon that can move and shoot. the Pariah's all have Power weapons, and can do +2d6 pen on vehicles. S and T are both 5,so shoot them with missiles or other heavy weapons that deny their 3+ save. Now since he wont have a monolith, any WBB rolls he fails he will not get a second chance. Also remember that he has to have models of the same unit within 6 inches to get a WBB roll except for a Lord with Res orb. Also remember that he doesn't get WBB from Power Weapons,AP 1 weapons or anything else that prevents a Armor save, unless there is a Lord with Res orb within 6 inches, but they still need to have a unit within 6 inches of the same type. Also Pariah's are not necrons, and dont get WBB,and don't count to model count for phase out. If you have a RP with TW you are in a amazingly good situation for this fight to be honest. Brother Caleb
Quick update, the game is taking much longer than we thought, due to unforeseen circumstances, so we are going to finish it next week end. One of the perks of having a game table in the basement. It's the middle of game turn 3, SW/BA just finished, and the Necrons are 6 models away from phase out, but the daemons are still going pretty strong, though my long fangs brought down the bloodletter. Also, Njal has proved himself several times over by keeping the flighty anti-armor daemons 24" out and almost taking out the Night Bringer with JotWW. He's pretty much my new best friends. Lol that is what I meant to say but made a mistake on typing lol. As for the rest...Is it safe to assume that the advice was spot on then? Brother Caleb
As for the rest...Is it safe to assume that the advice was spot on then? Indeed, except for the fact that Pariahs don't allow invulnerable, which I find annoying on a conceptual level. :) Thanks again for the heads up, Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/202727-working-with-a-new-ba-player/page/2/#findComment-2418800 Share on other sites

Thanks again for the heads up, The reasoning behind that is they are all equipped with C'tan phase sword equivalents, same as the Callidus assassin. I guess, for me, the assertion that one is invulnerable implies that it cannot be taken. If it could, then he would not be invulnerable. It's just a personal hangup.
