Loki73
Ok heres my dilemma. Pg3 says I have to get my opponents permission to use a larger base for scenics. Most people in my play area are cool with that sort of thing. I modeled my Sanguinor host with huge pegasus wings and he is a bit unstable with a standard infantry base. Now I am in a tourney tomorrow and the organizer said it was OK. I was wondering what are others thoughts about this? After all he cant join a unit and there is more room for enemies to circle a base. I am gaining no advantage other than modeling. Thx, I will be putting pics of my army later. Morticon
I have the same problem. I model all my characters on big bases. The problem with Sang is that he has an aura. My advice is to define where the small base circumference is on the big base - so you can measure from that point for the aura. Then there should be zero problems. Other than that, youre actually at a disadvantage for bigger bases!
Wicksy
Other than that, youre actually at a disadvantage for bigger bases! Not really....stick a tactical squad on monstrous creature bases and arrange the so they are in coherency. How many can you get with a pie plate over the middle of a base? Now compare it to std 25mm bases. Big difference. I wouldnt have a problem with the OP's request. However in more competitive games you'd be called out. Larger based minis nerf to varying degrees all template weapons.
Morticon
Geez dude...we're talking about one model. Not a whole squad.
nurglez
But model's with an aura that extends from their base, could provide an unfair advantage. Though having a larger base does make it harder to move around some terrain, I'd have no issue, but I'm sure some people might have one.

Which is why Mort said figure out where the little base is so you can figure out the aura without argument.
Whitefireinferno
Yeah I would just gule the 25mm base to the center of the 40mm one so you can clearly see the 25mm base and measure from that for his AOE, Geeze its not like you glued Seth to a Valk base oh god the carnage
