At least 2 more special weapons. Ask your opponent if he is ok with you proxying them if you don't have them yet. From what I understand about Tau,they tend to have pretty strong Anti-armor,and a whole bunch of shooting. You might consider some fast moving troops if you can. I think a Landspeeder might work nicely.

Thank You

How many people and what armor type are you putting in the LRC?

Cap/Max is 8 Termi's, which I wonder if the WG are. If not, it's good points pinching... If WG are in PA, you may clearly put all of them in plus WL.

I'd really recommend the other Melta's, it's an ID wpn against T4, can't go wrong there.

Tau generally have rail guns. You have few enough vehicles that they won't have any trouble picking out their targets. It feels like you should either add some more Armor, to the point where they actually have some decisions to make or just go straight footslogging all the way. As things stand now you've got a lone land raider with a giant "Kick Me" sign on it's back. It's gonna be swiss cheese first turn.

How about footslogging WG and just leaving the Land Raider as bait for the Rail Guns?

*GASP* Foot against Tau?!

Tau are shooty. Reducing speed and protection for numbers is playing into their little blue hands.

IMO you need;

some shooty to suppress incoming Tau firepower

APCs to get your Wolves into the action

do not take much in the way of HQ, a regular Wolf will smash even a suit, you don't need to smash them even more so!

For shooting; (not Dakka) Preds, Long fangs, Typhoon launcher speeders

*Don't take Dreads, they are to slow (on Foot) or too tempting a target (in Pod) for Tau.

MM HF Speeders are always a good bet; the MM hammers Armour and Crisis suits, whilst the HF bbqs Fire Warriors and stops Kroot being tough in the woods.

If it helps, here is my BT list I am running at the moment; 1500 pt BT

Honestly, against Tau is one of the few situations that skyclaws are worth their points. Be smart and give them a wolf priest, deploy them, and move them behind cover to get to the combat in one piece. If you've been smart and given the priest warrior born, they will sweep through the tau.

Bikes Brothers!!! BIKES!!!!

You have a movement of 12 and a charge of 6. You have Bolters which are relentless and are twin-linked. So you can reroll to hit. You have beserker charge, so you get 4 attacks a bike. As they have pistols and CCW on the bike. It's so worth it to run a maxed out pack. I usually have 1 with a fist and one with a melta and a heavy melta on the attack bike. As you need the second melta with the crap BS of a bloodclaw. Still it can get close and assault fast. And moew down fire warriors.

Throw in a couple of pods and you just spanked those cleft hoof cows. Plains animals, it's what's for diner.

Pods are awesome as well. As they allow you to drop where you want and chew up his formation. If he is Mech thou Pods have a harder time.

Never try to out shoot a Tua. He is the shooty army. Rails kill. Instead you assault him.

Shooty the Assault and assualt the shooty.

The ideal against Tau is mobility and a 2nd turn or 3rd turn assault. SkyClaws and Bikers can take advantage of cover and quickly cross the board. Lots of Rhinos popping smoke or getting cover saves, gunning it 12" up the board will likely grab his attention. A Predator or Landraider stalking about will make him sweat. Hell, even Fenrisian Wolves following a character on a TWM would be a nightmare. The Wolves could take a number of casualties and still be a nightmare on the charge.

For the Tau, get your guys there. After that, its pretty much going to be your game.
