JMac
When a terminator take a combi-bolter, does he then lose the storm bolter and get a boltgun traits? Or does he get the storm bolter traits and also the combi-weapon? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/202875-term-combi-bolters/ Share on other sites
TiguriusX
A combi-bolter is not a storm bolter. Different rules and number of shots etc. Read p. 57 of your SW codex closely. The combi-bolter behaves like a regular bolter. Due to TDA relentless rules the final difference is a combi-bolter can only rapid fire up to 12" instead of 24" of a SB. You can still chose to take a single shot up to 24" with your Combi-Bolter (since Relentless lets you fire as if stationary), so you are only sacrificing the second shot between 12-24" in order to get the added one-time special weapon shot of your choice for the game. Very good deal if you are using a transport (Drop Pod, Land Raider) to get within 12" of the enemy anyway, in which case you really aren't sacrificing anything. Grey Mage
Yep, and thankfully you can assault after rapid firing in TDA, so your not hobbling yourself there either.
