IronKobra
I am still in the middle of my other projects. But when the light dies and I have to stop painting I have had to start some converions on some Sang Priests, so when I come to play, I wont be short of these very useful guys! First off I have started with Corbulo, of course...He's the daddy! I havent dont much to him, he is a nice sculpt, has the grail, whole wrathful face thing...However...He has a regular plain shoulder pad on the left, so I had to cut this off and replace it with one of the new fancy DC Pads. Also the new kits have so much bling, I couldnt not add something else, so I added a tabbard under his belt. I'm surprised how much this one bit beefs up the model! http://i847.photobucket.com/albums/ab36/IronKobra84/DSC00595.jpg http://i847.photobucket.com/albums/ab36/IronKobra84/DSC00597.jpg And I am also doing a JP Priest. This was really just a case of cutting off the tubes and pipes from the apothercary plastic torso and sticking them to an assault marine torso. Added to some new DC legs he looks suitably 'Holy'. I have the suitable apaothecary left arm and need to decide on a weapon for the right. Probably a DC Power sword. And Tempted by one of the Sang Guard jump packs after seeing an awesome one on here. http://i847.photobucket.com/albums/ab36/IronKobra84/DSC00592.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/202880-wip-corbulo-and-sanguinary-priests/ Share on other sites
Razblood
Nice work so far. Have you considered swapping out the old style chainsword on Corbulo? The newer style look far more slashy imo, just a thought Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/202880-wip-corbulo-and-sanguinary-priests/#findComment-2418154 Share on other sites
IronKobra
Most definately considered the sword-swap yeah. I am kind of browsing nice chain blades for something appropriate ;) I think I will avoid the new DC ones, they are nice and all, but a little on the thin side. One thing I like about Corbs equipped chainsword is it's quite chunky. I suppose I could try and double up a blade...Like a double sided chainsword effort. Or there is a nice double sided chainblade on the Vanguard Vets. *ponder* Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/202880-wip-corbulo-and-sanguinary-priests/#findComment-2418494 Share on other sites
IronKobra
So while I haven't put brush to model just yet I have been building up some Sang Priests. some simple conversions and kit bashing it all really from pretty regular parts. I have opted for the winged Sang Guard jump packs. I know there is a love/hate kinda split on them, but frankly I like 'em. I have also used magnets for the 1st time on these guys so I can swap the regular chainsword for a power weapon. I decided to magnetise just the hand holding the weapon to minimise extra painting. Better just a habd and a weapon than a whole arm. Here they are: http://i847.photobucket.com/albums/ab36/IronKobra84/SPS1.jpg http://i847.photobucket.com/albums/ab36/IronKobra84/SPS2.jpg http://i847.photobucket.com/albums/ab36/IronKobra84/SPS3.jpg http://i847.photobucket.com/albums/ab36/IronKobra84/SPS4.jpg And here is his magnetised chainsword hand: http://i847.photobucket.com/albums/ab36/IronKobra84/SPS5.jpg And a guy on a more adventurous base: http://i847.photobucket.com/albums/ab36/IronKobra84/SPS6.jpg http://i847.photobucket.com/albums/ab36/IronKobra84/SPS7.jpg Again magnetised chainsword: http://i847.photobucket.com/albums/ab36/IronKobra84/SPS8.jpg http://i847.photobucket.com/albums/ab36/IronKobra84/SPS9.jpg All together: http://i847.photobucket.com/albums/ab36/IronKobra84/SPS10.jpg I have a running theme going in the shoulder pads with the grails and am using the apothercary arms and I'll carry this on with a couple of foot sloggers. Midnightmare
Nice Corbs, Kobra, its suprising what a difference little details like that can make. A good source of beefy double edged chainswords are the chaos marine sprues. BTW What size magnets did you use? As I need to magnatise jump packs :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/202880-wip-corbulo-and-sanguinary-priests/#findComment-2465845 Share on other sites

I was suprised myself by how much those 2 additions to Corbs just added so much to a pretty plain character armour wise. The magnets I used on the wrist/hand joint were 2mm x 1mm (2mm dia/1mm deep) I get them from here, and the 2mm drill bit too. http://www.bitsandkits.co.uk/10-x-2mm-x1mm...ets-p-3981.html I haven't tried them with a jump pack but I think they would be strong enough. They got one hell of a pull on them for their size!
