Simo429
http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Skyrar%27s_Dark_Wolves I thought the only other chapter founded from the Wolves gene seed was the Wolf Brothers but on page 24 of the Chaos Codex this chapter can be found their first sighting being the Fenris sector Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/202963-skyrars-dark-wolves/ Share on other sites
Ullr Direfang
It isn't saying that they are. It says they were sighted in the Fenris system and are chaos. they could be a rouge company that fell or a small section of the wolf brothers that survived. Simo429
thats a good point I wish we'd have had a bit of cross over in the fluff of the two codex's or maybe something about Logan sending one of the wolf Lords to retrieve the Wolf of Fenris from the Corsairs Cant believe they would chuck down their weapons and turn on their brothers so easily Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/202963-skyrars-dark-wolves/#findComment-2419116 Share on other sites
Hfran Morkai
A Space Wolf ship was raided by the Red Corsairs and during the battle some of the Wolves turned on their brothers, slaughtering them and enabling Huron to capture the ship. I seem to remember something about a rather angry Wolf Priest too. Adarul Greystalker
I'm actually working on a bit of backstory for Skyrar's or perhaps another fallen company. They're lead by a rune priest/sorceror who was corrupted by tzeentch. He's an evil trickster-type character who decieved his brother wolves by serving them chaos-corrupted mead during a revel. His warband consists of himself and his lieutenants who are sworn to tzeentch and packs of brothers who would not forswear their oaths and give into chaos and so were cursed by the Lord of Change, turning them into wulfen-like mutants. I'm not sure if that's the story I'll go with exactly, but I like the theme of an evil trickster luring his kin into a trap and then turning them into beast-thralls through sorcery. Such a lost company would make a characterful and formidable adversary for my loyalist space wolves. Night Runner
There was a point in time where I was going to build a small force of Skyrar's Dark Wolves. I was going to use the ten Wulfen models I have as Possessed, and the rest as Berserkers, Chaos Marines and Chosen. For the rest I would have used normal vehicles, Dreads and bikers, but I just couldn't go through with it! I might do an evil Ultramarine army though ;). Thunderhawk3015
On the subject of Dark Wolves If you check the 'dex on p17 concerning the 13th company stone you will find that is is all to possible that they are wolves who have turned from the emperor and now fight for chaos/themselves. The Strike Cruiser Wolf of Fenris was captured by Huron Blackheart and some members of the Crew turn on their brothers in the final combat in one of the 2 weapon galleries and as a reward Huron gifts them with command of the cruiser is also another option. Honestly...I find it more likely that they turned renegade rather then fell to chaos...But every chapter has marines that have fallen.Even ours...Though I gotta admit, due to the lack of other support for them,I do like the idea that it's alternate dimension wolves from the Dornian Heresy *grins* Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/202963-skyrars-dark-wolves/#findComment-2420260 Share on other sites
hmk17
Yeah, Wolves that fall to chaos tend to stop being Astartes very quickly. However, Renegade makes perfect sense for these guys.
