RunningWolfFenris
I used the searchy servo-sperm and came up with nothing. I was wondering if a squad of WG wearing TDA can use a drop pod? I feel like yes, since they aren't mentioned in the excluded units, but my friend that plays BA says that since regular marine termies cant use a drop pod, mine can't. Who's right? Thanks, sorry for being such a pup Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/202995-tda-wg-in-a-drop-pod/ Share on other sites

Its the trade off for us not being able to deep-strike, I think it was actually a point in the Codex FAQ that GW made a point to say "yes, space wolves can put TDA in a Drop Pod" Besides, if your mate uses the "regular marines can't do it" argument again, feel free to go ape $#*% on him, we are nothing like regular marines. 'Regular marines can't do it, so we can't' Huh, that makes no sense. We have a different codex; we're not an off-shoot of the vanilla codex (any more), so regardless, we're not dictated to by the vanilla book; we use that for toilet paper, so since when would we care if Guilleman said "Thou shall not sent Terminators into battle in a drop pod." Grey Mage
We could do it, quite explicitly, when we were an offshoot of the SM codex, they didnt change it with the update. Branek Icefang
So does that make us irregular or non-regular  :P Unorthodox. SPACE WOLVES! I have always been of the mind that there is no such thing as unorthodox in war. If you stick to the "standard" military tactics, the enemy gets wise to you and will defeat you. If you get a bunch of super-soldiers drunk, give them rpg-machine guns and swords, and point them at the enemy, he is too shocked to respond. S. Bloodhowl
I say if he ever uses the "Normal marines can't do it, so neither can yours" argument again just point out the many things that Blood Angels can do that normal marines cant, and then stop him from doing them. I.e. You-"I'm sorry, but you cant use that Storm Raven, or the Red Thirst rule, or Feel No Pain, or have Dreadnoughts as troops and Chaplains as elites. Oh, and you you know that dirty, dirty Librarian Dreadnought you get? You can't use that either." BA Player-"Why not?" You-"Because normal marines can't do it." BA Player-*Puts away most of his army* Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/202995-tda-wg-in-a-drop-pod/#findComment-2419844 Share on other sites

I nearly laughed out loud at the cheek of that - from a Blood Angel!! Tell him: Deep striking Land Raiders - nope regular marines can't. Predators in Fast Attack - nope regular marines can't. Dreadnoughts as Troops - nope regular marines can't. Dreadnoughts with psychic powers - nope regular marines can't. Only scatter 1D6 on deepstrike - nope regular marines can't. The list goes on and on and on... Or of course, just save the points on drop pods and deepstrike directly as regular marines do - this is actually better as you can do it with a bigger squad. Prot
Don't forget the Space Wolves (similar to the Black Templars) really don't give a Wolf's doo-doo what the Codex Astartes says. Guilleman and his cronies wrote that up (we all know why). So the short answer is: Wolves don't really recognize the Codex Astartes as much more than a dog chew toy. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/202995-tda-wg-in-a-drop-pod/#findComment-2420011 Share on other sites
