Azatoth
I am aware that the Adeptus Arbites are not a part of the Inquisition, though I assume they will often work in tandem with the Ordo Hereticus. But I found no section for non-miniature art for GW products. I stumbled over this piece of art by chance, I think its the cover for a BL book, and simply wanted to share it here because I think the artist did a very good job here catching the movement of melee. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y74/Azatoth/Characters/1275449057612.jpg I remember there was once a list for the Imperial Judges/Police is there a updated one around? Please move it to the correct forum if there is one please. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/203094-female-adeptus-arbites/ Share on other sites
Inquisitor Fox
Adeptus Arbites as far as I'm concerned is okay for this forum as specifically in the Witch Hunters Codex, under the IST entry it speaks about a free weapon swap to shotguns for representing an Arbites squad. Ergo, the piece of art can stay ;) Furthermore it's an upcoming novel from the Black Library that I was eyeballing myself... Enforcer by Matt Ferrer. "Enforcer Shira Calpurnia maintains a tough line on law and order in the Hydraphur system. Home to Imperial warfleets, this area of space is riven with violence and corruption. Calpurnia's duty is to protect the innocent and punish the guilty - with extreme prejudice. This omnibus collects the novels Crossfire, Legacy and Blind as well as new content from Matt Farrer." daboarder
actually they are old novel's and its an upcoming omnibus, i've read teh first 2 and am currently reading the third they are not bad but are more of a detective type story with very little inquisitorial involvement. number6
Wow! If the book is half as awesome as the cover art, I'm sold! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/203094-female-adeptus-arbites/#findComment-2421356 Share on other sites

Sister Kyrie
Hmm...not sure how I feel about the book (based solely on what people have said here, since I've never heard of it before), but that picture is awesome! Thanks for sharing it. :thanks: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/203094-female-adeptus-arbites/#findComment-2421608 Share on other sites
Inquisitor Fox
I read the PDF extract on Black Library's site... seemed intriguing. I figure if they're referencing a list of Inquisition works in the extract it's geared at our crowd, so I'll be picking up a copy of the Omnibus. At the rate of the current codex rumors, I might decide my next 'acquisition' for 40K should be two boxes of Necromunda Enforcers to be both Enforcers as well as ISTs with shotguns and grenade launchers... :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/203094-female-adeptus-arbites/#findComment-2421658 Share on other sites
Inache
The Necromunda Enforcers are a great basis for any =][= addition. I picked up two Cyber-Mastifs for use as alcolytes for my DH =][=. I'm really stoked that this is coming out soon. The Arbites are a very underused resource by BL. Grimdark police work should be prime book fodder, and this taste will be so good. Plus I can never pass up an omnibus. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/203094-female-adeptus-arbites/#findComment-2421981 Share on other sites
Inquisitor Fox
I had bits ordered a cyber mastiff back when we could.. I use him as my combat servitor with power fist.. he tries to tear the bumpers off rhinos :) I think I probably will go for the Enforcer boxes to round things out.. I'm thinking blue jumpsuits and black carapace armor... to contrast with my red and black for the ISTs. Mmm... Now to get the book too! Obliterator
Having read at least 2 of the 3 books (not sure about the 3rd, it's been a while :D ), I can say that I actually enjoyed the read. These books take you into a part of the universe that you rarely see in most other novels, as you get to witness the people most closely to the law abiding citizens of the Imperium. They mainly focus on the Arbites and the Ecclesiarchy, and their relations, not the open battle you get in most Space Marine novels (although the storylines are easy equally epic). Page-turners, each and every one of them. For those that decide to get the books: enjoy the hours of missed sleep :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/203094-female-adeptus-arbites/#findComment-2422808 Share on other sites
Brother Nihm
Old stories are old! They are nevertheless interesting (as in a good read) because they deal with something we don't get so see often in 40K, investigation and murder puzzles. JaqTaar
I have the three individual novels already, but I'll buy the omnibus as well, just for the two new short stories. daboarder
the first one has a very nice rendition of the SoB as supporting characters, its religously zealous and yet sane at the same time unlike most of the other portrayals. unfortunately at one point they get fairly stomped in combat but its a fairly minor annoyance. edit: for some wierd reason my favourite character is the tech priest Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/203094-female-adeptus-arbites/#findComment-2423697 Share on other sites
GodwynDi
I missed this series originally. Cover art alone makes it worth picking up now. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/203094-female-adeptus-arbites/#findComment-2428857 Share on other sites
WAR
I read all 3 and liked them they are like reading a crime novel but Shira Calpurnia is such a bad@$$ character that picking up the omnibus is worth it. We read tons of stories about marines and the IG so one of GW lesser know armies and for that matter cared about armies it is great to have stories about them. I personnally have @ 1500 pts (using the dex from BOLS) of just arbites and enforcer models but I really need to point them out using the new IG dex to see what I have and reason to build the two Valkyries I have.
