Weathering test on a bloodclaw

Hi I like to have space wolves who have the image of long bitter war. So here is a testmodel for my weathering.

Backback is not done yet and the blood on the chainsword needs more detail. Its also not based yet.

The photo's are not that clear but I like the model so far.

This will give me a lot more work to complete my models :P

UPDATE

Blood with details and ardcoat so its looks " new blood "

Base needs snow and grass

Looks pretty cool man. I like the scratch marks and blood coming out, really awesome.

Although I dont advice putting it on bloodclaws since they are new guys, so they would probably have a better armour state than grey hunters and them.

I just will put not that much on those BC. :P

The weathering has some potential, so looks like you're on your way.

Having said that, I've never been a big fan of weathering or chipping on vehicles, etc. These guys are professional warriors, even as space vikings they take pride in their wargear. And professionals clean and maintain their equipment!

Of course, if you are in mid campaign it could look ok. But SM don't typically involve themselves in protracted campaigns without support from their strike cruisers etc. Just my $.02

Everybody has his own style but I never liked the image of all " brand new marines " on the tabletop. That's why I always painted scratches and damage on my models and tanks. The rust and earth on my armour refers to the storms and bad weather conditions on fenris. The scratches and power armour damage is from the brute playstyle we space wolves have. Like they smashed their fist/chainsword so hard into the enemy faces.

Ok I like the weathering, it looks good, so do the glowing eyes (i just wish I could take the plunge to do the eye lense like that, maybe one day)

Anyway back to the weathering, the only thing i think its lacking is black lining, if you black lined the models i think they would look awsome.

Nah, even a blood claws gear would look like crap after a couple of months in-country. As the saying goes.

No unit prepared for the Parade Ground is ready for Combat, and no Combat ready unit is prepared for Parade ground.

And blood claws would be really dinted yup as they like to melee and mix it up.

I had the same impression.

Im also not going to true-scale blood claws or sky claws - the idea being that they have not "grown" into their full wolfy greatness - AND THE FLUFF BE DAMNED!
