Im bored so im gonna write a battle report on my game today :) enjoy, hopefully :D

 

Mission: Seize Ground

Objectives: 3 Counters

Deployment: Pitched Battle

Result: Win. 2 - 0

Deployment I got first turn, deployed everything - Eldar: Void Dragon Phooenix, Warp Spider and Striking Scorpions were in reserve

 

 

Turn 1

tanks move full distance, rune priest casts Tempsts Wrath

whirlwind on the left attemps to flee the range of the bright lance wraithlords

everything else moves up the right

long fangs kill 6 rangers with missile launchers

long fangs imobilise a wave serpent with the lascannons

 

bright lances shake the landraider

2 dire avenger squads disembark and bladestorm the thunderwolves causing 1 wound each

harlequins assault thunderwolves and wolf lord, striking first they kill 1 thunderwolf, thunderwolves strike back and kill all ten

wraithlord meltas the runepriests rhino and misses

 

 

Turn 2

rune priest casts Tempsts Wrath and disembarks, rhino rams the second wave serpent causing nothing

Long Fangs destroy the second wave serpent

whirlwind in range of nothing still so moves 12" along my board edge

thunderwolves assault and anihilate a dire avenger squad

rune priest squad assaults avatar, avatar causes 1 wound on rune priest, rune priest wounds him 3 times, avatar fails 3 iv. saves rune priest passes psychic test and kills the demon!!!!

 

wraithlords immobilise the whirlwind

void dragon phoenix arrives, shoots at rune priests grey hunter squad, rune priest, meltagunner and power weapon grey hunter survive

warp spiders deepstrike kill long fang squad

 

 

Turn 3

land raider turns around, heads toward warpspiders and bloodclaws disembark

land raider shoots all its weapons and kills 3 warpspiders

thunderwolves try and assault wraithlords out of range by 1"

rune priest re-embarks rhino moves back toward objective

2nd grey hunter squad disembark and shoot rangers (2 remain)

blood claws assault and kill warp spiders suffering 2 casualties

whirlwind kills the rest of dire avenger squad 2

 

wraithlords shoot thunderwolves killing 1

void dragon phoenix kills all but wolf guard meltagunner and power weapon from the second grey hunter squad

 

 

Turn 4

thunderwolves assault and kill both wraithlords leaving 1 thunderwolf and wolf lord (with 2 wounds)

whirlwind kills remaining rangers

grey hunter squad 2 re-embark rhino

bloodclaws re-embark landraider and head towards objective 3

 

striking scorpions finally arrive! assault grey hunters squad 2's rhino doing nothing

void dragon phoenix shoots at thunderwolves leaving wolf lord on 1 wound and killing the final thunderwolf

 

 

Turn 5

rune priest and squad disembarks from their rhino where they have been hiding to get into coherency with objective

grey hunter squad 2 disembarks, shoots scorpions killing 2

whirlwind shoots scorpions killing 5

land raider with nothing else to do decides to shoot at the void dragon phoenix

wolf lord destroys the immobilised wave serpent

assault cannon, shoots scoring one hit, which was shrugged off by the 4+ cover save

the multimelta i upgraded to fill points decides to have a shot too! hits on a 6, cover save fails, rolls a 3 on damage table +1 for AP1 (immobilised) eldar holo field save (4+) FAILS and the flyer comes crashing down to the ground :woot:

 

scorpions assault grey hunters and get killed

 

Game Ends

Fun replay though, i find myself feeling bad for the Eldar *shrug* sounded like they got stomped, and Harrlies are my favorit thing in the game.. Avatar is also bad ass, but got :P owned. They dont have a 5th eddition dex yet, do they?

isn't the avatar eternal warrior? how did you psychic kill him?

 

edit: I guess he doesn't have Eternal Warrior. neat-o.

this came up in the game actually! my oponent was convinced that all demons have eternal warrior, but that is only in Codex: Demons so it doesn't confer to those outside of that

 

What is a Void Dragon Pheonix?

Its a 360pt flyer with alot of heavy weapons in the str 6 range, a marine hunter... has a 4+ invulnerable save. Usually its apocalypse only... sold from FW for about 100 bucks US.

yep i picked one up on ebay for him for just over £40 so im letting him use it, and in IA its able to be taken as a heavy support in eldar/dark eldar armies

its very good at killing marines

he did have some terrible rolls with his shooting from it though! otherwise I probably would have lost my grey hunter packs

Because the Space Wolves are a diverse and proud bunch, no two characters may bear the same saga. the exception to this is special characters

 

I thought so too but i found that when Dhar'Neth brought it up

May just be a typo, but you should have 6 long fangs if you are having 3 ML & 2 Las, dont forget about the squad leader.

 

its just quicker to write 6 long fangs

rather than 5 Long Fangs and 1 Squad Leader

 

and i dont see its worth arming the squad leader with anything extra, he is often the first casualty in the squad
