Bjorn the Fell Handed

I just skimmed over this, and came across a rather interesting passage.

Bjorn continues to sleep bellow the Fang with the other venerable dreadnoughts, the space wolves will not wake him up for any trivial reason. However he has been known to awaken himself upon rare occasions, between battles he is a renowned storyteller, well versed in the sagas of Leman Russ and he enjoys testing the Wolf Priests.

Is there any other refrences to things like this? I've been around for a while but this is the first I've heard of dreads activating themselves.

I thought all dreads were kept in stasis. How do you wake up when youre in stasis, and would anyone else even know?

because he is Bjorn, therefore totally awesome.

and when you start telling stories about the olden days i am sure the Wolves take notice.

WLK

Thats a big NO. Bjorn is awoken. He does not wake himself up. (unless its been retconned in 5th)

Space Wolf FLuff 101, dont believe everything you read on Wiki, Lexican and other similar sites.

Atleast the site you mention in the first post put the following disclaimer

"None of the above is directly copied from any Games Workshop publication" in other words the writers have worded it themselves for the most part.

Yeah, a mouse over of the link has the words "fan fiction"... so that says a bit.

Dreadnoughts are kept slumbering and in stasis until needed, for the most part. There are exceptions...

Death Company Dreadnoughts are not put to slumber, but chained up until released on the battlefield.

The fluff on the new Storm Wardens have their dreadnoughts active and guarding the lowest reaches of their fortress monastery.

Bjorn doesn't just wake up, but he does get awoken especially to tell the tales of Russ and the ancient glories of the Space Wolves on a holiday every 100 years.

Though...If any Dreadnaught were to wake it self up...It would be Bjorn lol.

Just out of curiosity... how the hell do you chain up a dreadnought?

remove their arms and hoist them.

So in the middle of the darkest night while the rest of Fang is sleeping, Bjorn awakens himself and takes a silent and cautious toddle towards the Chapter's Armoury... Unnoticed, unseen, unhindered...

According to the Space Wolves legends, once every 1000 years the Chapter's Armoury is breached and raided. Unknown infiltrators leave no traces behind, except that all Chapter's ale and mead are gone - in one night. Even Bjorn, when next time awakened and asked about this, just mumbles that "it has always been so since the times of Russ, and always will be - until the Wolftime...".

Hilarious :D I loved it, so I thought I'd share :D

Oh damn you Skirax...Here I am sitting at my computer quietly at 3 am and you post something funny enough I start giggling and howling with laughter, fall out of my chair, and wake up 3 kids.

You mean Bjorn doesnt have his own alarm clock? Dam, I'm not realy dissapointed but it just sounded cool, not that old Bjorn needs any help there.

"This was the second worst Bjorn story time ever" If this is only the second worst, what was the worst like?

Also guess the story clears up some of the age old questions about marines and the space wolves, especially how Bjorn got his name, always wondererd how he got that.
