Grazcruzk
Hello hello my Blood Angel sub forum friends! I have posted around here a few times and I've really started kicking things into gear a little bit more lately and though it might be a good idea to start a topic that I can just add to like I see a lot of guys doing. So first a little bit about myself. I'm Graz, I'm 27 and the first 40k model I ever bought was Tycho, back in I think my sophomore year of high school. I have always loved the Blood Angels, though I have been known to dabble with the World Eaters from time to time. The hobby is not very big in my area so I don't really get a chance to play, so I spend my time putting conversions together and generally putting fun before function as far as my models go. I'm working on a BA (or maybe BA successor?) army. I've an AoBR box, a handful of various marine bits that have been laying around for years, a LRcrusader, some of the new DC guys and lots of bits. I know BA is not a very shooty force but unfortunately most my existing marines are of the tac variety so we'll see what happens. To start things off I've recently finished the new DC box (all but the bases anyways), which was bitter sweet because I was in the middle of working on a DC with a handful of cc weapons and jump packs I managed to throw together. The new models are so great I almost feel sorry for the guys. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y221/loki114/warhammer%20stuff/IMG_1482.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y221/loki114/warhammer%20stuff/IMG_1479.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y221/loki114/warhammer%20stuff/IMG_1481.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y221/loki114/warhammer%20stuff/IMG_1480.jpg And now here are a few of my WIP HQs. Please excuse the off paint colors, both are ex test models for some of my failed paint schemes >.> Both are also kind of on hold until I get some more greenstuff, hopefully soon. First is a stand-in for Tycho using the AoBR captain. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y221/loki114/warhammer%20stuff/IMG_1472.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y221/loki114/warhammer%20stuff/IMG_1473.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y221/loki114/warhammer%20stuff/IMG_1471.jpg Second will be a stand in for either Seth or Astorath. I think the axe might be too big.. That may or may not be the World Eaters calling to me. Still needs a lot of work either way. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y221/loki114/warhammer%20stuff/IMG_1475.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y221/loki114/warhammer%20stuff/IMG_1476.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y221/loki114/warhammer%20stuff/IMG_1477.jpg And last just for giggles are a few shots of the mash up of models that inhabit my work area. Eventually I'll get to unpacking the bits I have in storage. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y221/loki114/warhammer%20stuff/IMG_1483.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y221/loki114/warhammer%20stuff/IMG_1484.jpg More to come, hopefully fairly soon! I have found a great deal of inspiration and all around stunning pieces of art around the B&C in the short amount of time I've been here, hopefully I don't disappoint. cc is always welcome, of course. Until next time.

Grazcruzk
Thanks for the words, guys! I have a bit of an update tonight. I convinced myself that my Tycho counts-as was looking decent enough model-wise because I was itching to get some painting done. So here is what I've ended up with. Again, no base yet (lacking the basing materials at the moment) and I noticed a few little globs I'll have to clean up. Probably add some more face detail too. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y221/loki114/warhammer%20stuff/IMG_1485.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y221/loki114/warhammer%20stuff/IMG_1494.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y221/loki114/warhammer%20stuff/IMG_1489.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y221/loki114/warhammer%20stuff/IMG_1487.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y221/loki114/warhammer%20stuff/IMG_1490.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y221/loki114/warhammer%20stuff/IMG_1488.jpg That's it for now! Grazcruzk
Hey guys I've got a small update for today. My motivation has been a little bit lacking lately, but I have started to piece together an honor guard for what I've decided will be a Seth stand in. I've also done a bit more work on the commander. I still haven't decided 100% on a paint scheme for the army, but I have decided they are going to be fairly similar to the Flesh Tearers. I like the fairly spartan armor and plan on arming the honor guard with chain axes to be their most defining badge of honor. First up is an honor guard member with a hand flamer and chain axe. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y221/loki114/warhammer%20stuff/IMG_1512.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y221/loki114/warhammer%20stuff/IMG_1513.jpg Next is the Blood Champion, made from various bits . http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y221/loki114/warhammer%20stuff/IMG_1515.jpg Last we have the still to be named Seth stand in with a little paint on him. A close up might have been a good idea since the model is so busy around the head area.. Next time. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y221/loki114/warhammer%20stuff/IMG_1509.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y221/loki114/warhammer%20stuff/IMG_1511.jpg cc is welcome as always! I'll catch you guys next time.
Sanguinarian
Looking Good! I like the latest "Reaver" version better than the long pig sticker! Tycho's custom "Blood Song" is sweet too. I like weapons, if you didn't notice.
Grazcruzk
Thanks man. I had some trouble with the reaver at first. I finally decide to add a 3rd chainsword to it. A few of the teeth are a little off though. I may have to add some giblets around those areas.
Corby
Promise me when ever the guy with the reaver charges you will shout AIYAAAAAAAA! really really loud. Love the Tycho conversion.
Grazcruzk
Small update tonight. Commander Ayia (internet high-five for Coby) is nearing completion. The first one isn't the greatest quality but its the only one where the streaking on the reaver showed up. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y221/loki114/warhammer%20stuff/IMG_1521.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y221/loki114/warhammer%20stuff/IMG_1516.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y221/loki114/warhammer%20stuff/IMG_1525.jpg I should be getting some work done on the honor guard pretty soon. Grazcruzk
Just something quick. I've been working on some concept art for a friend so my attention has been pretty spread out lately. I've become sidetracked again ever since I took a good look at the High Marshal Helbrecht model. To me, it screams DC Tycho. So. That, along with the side stuff I've been working on is going to be my next model. Not that it really has any place in the army right now, just because I see potential for a great conversion. Here is what I had in mind.. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y221/loki114/warhammer%20stuff/tychoconcept.jpg I love the style of the armor. Of course I'll take down the BT icons and such, but just look at that pose. Add a mask on the face (though I would love to see a "shattered mask" version of Tycho in the midst of a battle), work the gripped chain into an ork's topnot, replace the sword with a combat knife. What do you guys think? Maybe its because I'm feeling a little bit manic today. But that is all I've got for now. I don't even have the model yet, but I plan on going into town today and picking one up. I'll keep you guys posted.
AnDyzZzoRe
Sounds like it'll be awesome! The Templar crosses look like a pain to file off so good luck!
Mattsama
Try to slap some skulls or wings on as many of them as you can, because they aren't to far seperated fom the main metal of the modle.
Grazcruzk
Yeah I was looking at that. I have a pretty small file, but I'm sure some fancy gs work will be needed in a few places
dekyr
I would use GS on the shoulder pads. It make the pads a little bulkier but it will be easier to build it up than trying to file the icon down. Do the same thing for the one of the clasp for the cape and turn it into a shield like the ones the Termies have. You are likely going to have to GS the mask for him anyways. You would be just filling in a flat surface which isn't tough to do with green stuff.
Grazcruzk
It has been far too long. Sorry for the kinda necro-slash-disappearing act. I have an update! I got a fairly large quantity of green stuff yesterday so I set to work on a counts as Astorath. I favor bulkier, plated artificer armor over the slim stylized stuff you see on most of the Blood Angel heroes so I wanted to make a suit of power armor that is almost too bulky for a jump pack. So what I've got right now is a Grey Knight terminator torso with plastic Khorne berserker legs and arms. I've started bulking up the arms a bit but haven't gotten to the legs yet. I have special plans for the jump pack that I'm not comfortable posting just yet. Mostly because right now it looks really silly. The back vents/power plant will be modeled into the jump pack. Hopefully that along with it being a slimmer GK termie frame will help get it away from screaming terminator. To add to the bulkier feel I am shortening a boltgun instead of using a regular bolt pistol. The double-headed axe will get a longer handle and a double-headed eagle between the blades. It is still very rough at this point, hopefully it won't take me too long to get it finished up. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y221/loki114/warhammer%20stuff/IMG_1581.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y221/loki114/warhammer%20stuff/IMG_1585.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y221/loki114/warhammer%20stuff/IMG_1584.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y221/loki114/warhammer%20stuff/IMG_1590.jpg

Grazcruzk
Thanks man! Glad I could be of help! I should have some more pictures up later tonight. I decided it was best to extend the breastplate down over the groin similar to the look of MKIII iron armor. I also got some work done on the legs and axe/crozious. But I was just popping in since I saw I had a new reply. Going out to dinner tonight, I should have of pictures up later on.
Grazcruzk
Alrighty I've got a few new ones to post. Axe and armor work, plus the beginnings of the jump pack. Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures. More to come! http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y221/loki114/warhammer%20stuff/IMG_1597.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y221/loki114/warhammer%20stuff/IMG_1592.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y221/loki114/warhammer%20stuff/IMG_1602.jpg

I was thinking about the Templar cross issue, and..........................Why not convert some of them into Crux Terminatus rather than trying to file them all off? This would add a great deal of personality to the model, and make life a little easier on you  GB
Grazcruzk
Yeah I considered that as well. I have yet to get the model so it is a bit hard to get an idea for what needs to done without having it in my hand. Could probably do something like that for the left shoulder and file down the right so it's smooth and then add the standard red x. From what I can tell the biggest problem area would be the knee pad. Since he would be a counts-as with different name I think I would forgo the mask at this point and green stuff some gnarly scar tissue on on side of his face. Grazcruzk
Waiting for green stuff to dry at the moment. I was hoping to get more done today before having to stop but the last time I tried to push it I ended up accidentally flattening a bunch of my green stuff work.. I got a bit more done on the jump pack and the legs. I also added to the collar piece. I was thinking about bringing the collar back and up to meet the jump pack since it's going to have to sit higher than I originally thought. The idea is to make the collar part of the jump pack so it forms a harness that is bolted to the armor. That might end up way too bulky though. What do you guys think? cc is always welcome! Jorre
wow thats alot of green stuff. I can't really say to much since I cant use green stuff at all. While he is looking completely unique which I love he just seems a bit plain, I think he needs some details Other than that a great unique model. He does look a bit messy atm but I guess that is more down to the green stuff old paint and different plastics all showing. I'm looking forward to how this guy looks all finished and painted.
