Frontline989
Looking over my large 5th edition rulebook I noticed that Fenris and Cadia are only a short distance from each other and I wondered if their is a record of Space Wolves and Cadians being strong allies? If so this might entice me to start a IG army to go along with my Wolves in the future. Grey Mage
Strong enough that Logain Grimnar was put in charge of the defense of the entire 13nth black crusade, and led great companies to battle on cadia itself time and again in support of Usakar Creeds legions. Yeah, Id say were probly on very good terms with them all told. If so, it was hidden beneath piles of black legion bodies and no one could tell. Stormshrug
I'm sure CREED was ready, and had a Plastic Bag equipped Leman Russ Outflanked. You don't bring in the Space Wolves without expecting a bit of poo on your lawn. -Stormshrug Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/203285-space-wolves-and-cadians/#findComment-2423215 Share on other sites
WeWillBuryYou
For some reason i don't recall Grimnar being in charge of everyone for the 13th Black Crusade. Was this in the Eye of Terror dex? It was indeed, and he was one of the few SCs allowed in the campaign- along with Maugan Ra, Usakar Creed, and a handful of others. ragnor of the iron wolf
if im not mistaken with my history space wolves have been very helpful for the IG and imperial people going as far back as the Horus Heresy, if i remember correctly the didnt make it to terra because the helped defend a forge world, hence the leman russ battle tank Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/203285-space-wolves-and-cadians/#findComment-2423438 Share on other sites

The_Betrayed_Spacewolf
i think but im definetly not sure on this one, that in the 3rd edition codex it maybe a cadian sergeant or officer that explains to the imperial writer that the wolves work well with .... screw it let me find the damn thing ok here we go page 30 of the 3rd edition codex; "I later found an IG Colonel of the Cadian 7th regiment stationed at the nearby Cadian Gate. This colonel, named Hassar, had fought alongside the Space Wolves in the Gorias Incursion and grown to know a good deal about their beliefs. Col. Hassar furnished me with sufficient knowledge that, once combined with lengthy examination of archive knowledge, i was able to complete this report. As an aside Col. Hassar commented that in his experience the Space Wolves, while proud and often boastful, do not generally bear grudges past the immediate settlement of blood-debt and honour in his own words "They live for the present and have little interest in celebrating or mourning the past, they honor great deeds but only as a standard to set themselves against so they can strive for greater glory." ok so taking from this excerpt, we can take it that pre 13th black crusade the wolves operated with the Cadian 7th regiment at the Cadian Gate enough for the colonel to gain knowledge about the wolves culture. Also with the amount of activity near these two areas, Cadian Gate & Fenrisian Space, we can almost guarantee that the two forces have worked together. Im not sure as well but im pretty sure a book tells us that the Wolves are very fierce about defending their territory and Cadia may fall into this space also as earlier mentioned Logan was in charge of allied forces during the Black Crusade Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/203285-space-wolves-and-cadians/#findComment-2423501 Share on other sites

Requiem of the Wolf
As far as the Wolves are concerned...their Territory includes any world that Doesn't have another Space Marine Chapter based there allready,at least as far as defense goes. All SM chapters say they are the defenders of humanity, except the Wolves. We don't bother saying it,because our history shows it clearly. We trust other chapters to defend what they are ordered to of course...But we are the ones that will go and defend a place simply because we were close and it needs defending. You want to know why Logan Grimnir is revered by countless worlds as one step below the Emperor himself? Because on every one of those worlds,Logan Grimnir and the Space Wolves came to the defense of that world, more often then not without having to be asked by the planetary government. Other Chapters, they wait to have the Planetary Government contact them, request help and then half the time busy themselves with negotiating support, resources and so on. Most times,by the time the Planetary Government is ready to contact the Adeptus Astartes for help,The Wolves will allready be on the ground defending the people. We leave most of those details till after the immediate threat is occupied or gone. We do what is right...what is neccessary..Not for reward..but for one simple reason. It is what Honor calls for.And there is nothing that a Space Wolf holds dearer then Honor. Ullr Direfang
well to get my view in on the IG/SW thing: it is in my fluff for both my SW and IG ( 86th Vostroyan Firstborns) that the fought a campaign along side each other. other then that most of the actual fluff has already been shown.
