jpwyrm
Hi there! First WIP thread, hope it'll last more than a week. I want to attend a tournament this August so I need to finish my army. I'll be playing Crimson Fists and though some of my units are already painted, they were done several years ago. Thus, I'll be painting the new ones and hope they'll blend in with the others. Anyways, here's some pic of one of the sergeant: http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn259/jpwyrm/Imperial%20Fists/IMGP0463.jpg http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn259/jpwyrm/Imperial%20Fists/IMGP0464.jpg Now I need to finish some details and I was thinking of adding some battle damage, rust/dust effets. Any constructive comments/criticism would be welcome. JP Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/203349-sons-of-dorn/ Share on other sites

jpwyrm
Thanks guys! I should be able to post some new pics either today or tommorow. Anyone got an idea on how to hide the scratch marking on his chest? I had to remove the blood drop there but could not find anything to hide the damage... Brother Styphus
I'm sure you could cover it with a purity seal... *crickets chirp* Look through your bits and you might find something small enough that would look alright glued to the front of your model. Just be sure to file down the backside so it doesn't stick out from the model. JP Im assuming your talking about the flat area between the wings. Id do what I did when I converted my SH termis to ultras. Have a look for the correct sized skull and glue that into the middle of the wings. It'll look like your standard winged skull. If you look Space marines are covered in them. A good source for me was bolter (small skull), HQ backpack banner top (medium skull), back of SM backpack (large skull) All you need to do is shave the skull off by keeping a sharp blade (I use craft knife) at a steady angel. jpwyrm
Hi guys! Thanks for the feedback, it's motivating me to go on with this project. @UltraRich: Good call on those parts. I'm still looking for something, I'll be giving this a try this week. In the meantime, had some time to paint yesterday afternoon, here's the results (sorry for the picture, not yet proficient with a camera...): Two other sergeants. These should help me complete the two tactical squads I have already painted and begin the Sternguards squad. http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn259/jpwyrm/Imperial%20Fists/IMGP0469.jpg http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn259/jpwyrm/Imperial%20Fists/IMGP0471.jpg Already have some touch up to do since I dropped the Sternguard sergeant while taking pictures :) Next update should be the three officers completely painted, minus the bases. As always, thanks for you feedback everyone. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/203349-sons-of-dorn/#findComment-2425827 Share on other sites
