Widowmaker
It has been ages since i've posted anything here. I have some finished Deathwing I need to throw up, but until I get round to taking the pics of them, try these for size... Knight of Caliban and Dies Irae Fallen Angels Landraider, Knight of Caliban http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s106/widowmakerphotos/Games%20Workshop/Warhammer%2040K/Chaos/Marines/Fallen/Fallen%203rd%20Company/P1030185.jpg http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s106/widowmakerphotos/Games%20Workshop/Warhammer%2040K/Chaos/Marines/Fallen/Fallen%203rd%20Company/P1030184.jpg http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s106/widowmakerphotos/Games%20Workshop/Warhammer%2040K/Chaos/Marines/Fallen/Fallen%203rd%20Company/P1030186.jpg http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s106/widowmakerphotos/Games%20Workshop/Warhammer%2040K/Chaos/Marines/Fallen/Fallen%203rd%20Company/P1030187.jpg Deathwing Landraider, Dies Irae http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s106/widowmakerphotos/Games%20Workshop/Warhammer%2040K/Imperial/Space%20Marines/Dark%20Angels/Deathwing/In%20Progress/P1030182.jpg http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s106/widowmakerphotos/Games%20Workshop/Warhammer%2040K/Imperial/Space%20Marines/Dark%20Angels/Deathwing/In%20Progress/P1030183.jpg They are both WIP... I need to do headlight arrays and rivets on both. On Knight of Caliban, I need to fix the red panels, finish the Angels on the side, finish the DA Symbol on the front, and do some work on the lascannons. On Dies Irae, I need to fix the lascannons, fix the dark area on the fron left hand side as you look at it, add colour to the the 2 sets of Dark Angels insignia. Can anyone see anything else? Any comments and criticism? Anything constructive is welcome. Cheers Widowmaker PS - Oh yeah, I meant to ask. On Knight of Caliban, what would you do with the trophy racks? Leave the uprights black and the tips silver? Leave the whole thing black? Paint them brown? Paint them Red? Silver? Something else? I obviously need to add some highlights, but I am stuck with what to do as an overall feel for them. Cheers W. Emperor's Instrument
I like 'em too. Heavy bolters need their barrels drilling out though ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/203377-dark-angels-landraiders/#findComment-2424816 Share on other sites
Justicar Valius
Superb models but you can't use dies irae as a name due to the traitor imperator titan of thhat name. LardO'Blood
As far as I know, in the 40k universe landraiders are not manufactured any more. Basically try adding some battle damage or maybe mud around the tires. Other than that its great! Very nice clean job on Dies Irae. Edemia
Superb models but you can't use dies irae as a name due to the traitor imperator titan of thhat name. Yeah, but the whole point of Warhammer is its individualistic, so he can call his models anything he wants really. Looking good so far mate, especially like the use of the Dark Angels winged sword on the Chaos Raider. Think you should dirty them up a wee bit though as Land Raiders are supposed to be a bit like TDA - relics of the chapter/legion and not manufactured anymore. Looking forward to seeing more! Retributis
Yeah, but the whole point of Warhammer is its individualistic, so he can call his models anything he wants really.Edemia Whilst thats true, having hordes of tanks and other vehicles called the Dies Irae floating around gets a bit cliché after a while ^_^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/203377-dark-angels-landraiders/#findComment-2424971 Share on other sites
Widowmaker
Thanks for all the comments guys. I appreciate them. I do have to drill the bolters - I'm pretty lazy about that, but I'll get it done. Battle Damage - we'll have to see. The landraiders are gonna be part of my Fallen Army and my Deathwing Army respectively. So far, battle damage ain't the way those armies are going, but I can see the appeal. As for the name Dies Irae, I understand the concern. I am familiar with the Traitor Titan of the same name, but the name "Days of Wrath" or "Wrath of God" (depending on how good/bad your latin/high Gothic is) seemd pretty good for a landraider. I also struggled to think of a better name that would work with my bad joke in the title. (Imperator Dei would work, but that's used even more than Dies Irae) Course, if any of you have suggestions as for a name, I'll gladly take suggestions. Answers on a postcard to this address. You have till I put paint to plastic to come up with something better. So far no-one has had suggestions about the trophy racks? Any thoughts? Black? Silver? Something else? Again, thanks for the comments. Keep 'em coming. Widowmaker
OK, while I have made some progress in highlighting the Dark Angels insignia on Dies, I have no pictures to that effect as yet. They will be up tongiht (I hope - I have family in town which may slow me down) Which means this is really only a shameless bump, and another request for opinions or ideas for how I should paint the trophy racks on Knight. Black? Metal? Wood? Something else? Answers on a postcard please... Thanks for the help Widowmaker Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/203377-dark-angels-landraiders/#findComment-2429533 Share on other sites
Asrech
Holy spikes batman! Looks good though, I'd say metal spikes/rods with the "bar" (horizontal) being kept black. That way you make them stand out yet tie in with the tank. As for Dies Irae.. I did the same thing with my Ares.. wrote dies irae over the front cannon, and of course, as soon as someone mentioned it I remembered the chaos titan. I changed mine to read Redemption instead, as I don't feel like having to hear "Dies Irae? Thats a chaos titan!" every single time I put it on a table. Keep up the good work my friend!
