Spacefrisian
I just got to thinking if the following is legal. Logan is with a unit of Wolfguard which have taken a Landraider with him. This unit sits within the Landraider making this a single unit. The question is:Is it possible to confer the Tankhunter skill upon the Landraider? Branek Icefang
No, because while dedicated transports are bought specifically for thhe unit, RAW wise they are still a seperate unit. Therefore, Logan has not joined the Land Raider. Edit: However with the new Spearhead expansion you can get Tank hunter vehicles! Grey Mage
Spearhead expansion? Yeah, you can give them tank hunter then... and itll be a 850ish pt unit. Hardly worth I think. Youd be better of bringing in a warhound at that rate. Branek Icefang
Spearhead is the new Games Workshop expansion for 40k, it is designed to replicate giant tank battles. It revolves around "formations" one of which is called tank hunters. For 60 points plus the cost of the vehicles (up to three) you can get them outside of normal FOC (so they don't take up elites) and they all have Tank Hunters. Its downloadable for free at the Games Workshop site. Edit: Actually Grey, its only 310 points for a Tank Hunter Land Raider, and the Vehicles in the Formation can all be different. So take a Land Raider and 2 Lascannon Predators, around 520 Points for 4 twin linked Lascannons all with the Tank Hunters rule. Bought the White Dwarf already, some good scenarios in there, don't have it on me ATM but I can give a rundown a little later. Grey Mage
Brief summary: You play long wise, advised on a 6x4. Two new objective missions, one of wich differentiates between "vital objectives" wich are worth 3 normal ones, and normal objectives wich are placed on the other side of the table. No minimum requirements of anything... you want 3 HS choices and 3 elite choices and a spearhead? Good to go. Standard limits on the max units, but your spearheads dont count towards that at all. Really, its an "apocalypse light". Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/203383-logan-question-time/#findComment-2424774 Share on other sites
Spacefrisian
I was kind of not amused by this Spearhead. All this hype and it turns out that you can take some tanks in formation and keep to standard org. chart. Kind of a weak idea if you ask me. But alas we should get back on topic.
