Capt. Kenaz
So I'm sure we have all seen the Death Co. Dred. that GW has been placing in it's photo spreads in WD and in the codex, but my question is: Where did they get the two 'blood talons' they show on the model they have? Did they high jack both these claws from the old SW Bjorn the fell handed model? Can anybody give me a heads up? Is this a totally stupid question? Am I just way tooo into converting models that I have notcied this??? Thanks in advance for any light you may shed on the topic.
Terminatorinhell
either they were to old furioso dread arms or the bjorn claws.
gorbhan
GW's model pics are usually of players models who got picked to be featured. Thats why you never have pure consistency in painting and whatnot. So youd have to ask whoever made that dread.
Brother Jim
They are most definitely not Bjorn's claws... His powerclaw has three long claws, and a stubby sorta thumb claw. I could see them being the metal Furioso dreadnought fist with some GS action to turn them into claws... Or they could be something that is going to be released in the future... SamaNagol
They are scratch built.
hohoman2
the claws on the DC dread are the frueyosos' claws as the base then they got 3 bjoun fell hands claws and SAWWED the claws of at the base of the hand. then they did the same on the fruys s claws and glued 4 of bjouns claws on the nubs left on the furys hand. the claws on the DC dread are the frueyosos' claws as the base then they got 3 bjoun fell hands claws and SAWWED the claws of at the base of the hand. then they did the same on the fruys s claws and glued 4 of bjouns claws on the nubs left on the furys hand. Remmah
It's a 'Furioso' :) And yes, i think they did use a saw on 3 bjorn claws to get 8 of those nails and then put those on the furioso arms. AFAIK those arms aren't for sale anywhere. There are plenty of other options available if you wanna have a pair of your own. There are several topics about that with links. dadieau
Ran across an older metal Chaos Lightning Claw the other day, it looks pretty good. Just need to find the other hand and I'll be ready to do a conversion.
SamaNagol
It's entirely scratch built. We did this comparison as soon as the Codex was seen. The 'base' fist is not either of the existing Dreadnought fists, and the claws are a completely different shape to Bjorn's
BorisBC
the Ironclad claws are kinda close, I've got one in the mail which should be here soon, hoping I can convert them fairly easily.
Oloff Hammeraxe
Someone on here had some resin cast ones he was selling on his blog. IIRC, they were pretty snazzy looking. Hope I'm not breaking any rules relaying this info, as posting sales pitches is a no-no on here. Just wanted to relay info! :) Anyway, since we're on the topic of dreadnought hands and the building thereof, anyone know where I can find some drill bits which would make good Dread hands? The Ironclad one just won't do. I want huge :D -en triangular drill bits! I just checked on GW's site, and it looks like the Ork Kans have some, but I'm not sure if the size would be right... Just the thought of a 20 foot tall robot with drills for hands rampaging through your pals while you watch in terror warms my heart!

Oloff Hammeraxe
I found these on the Privateer Press page...https://store.privateerpress.com/index.asp?...amp;ProdID=7387 Oh, those are beautiful. If they're scaled for large warjacks, they will make a perfect fit! I'd just need to cut off about half off of the non-bit part of the drill, and get rid of the nub on the Dread arm where the fist fits. Thanks for the heads up! Pcm979
How much disposable income do you have? Forgeworld sells these: MK IV DREADNOUGHT CLOSE COMBAT ARM (LEFT ARM) MK IV DREADNOUGHT CLOSE COMBAT ARM (RIGHT ARM) They're pricy, but ready to go with no conversion apart from maybe some guitar string for power cables.
