Emperors Immortals
Ive recycled my old VAS and DC minis as VV for my new army, and im pretty happy (especially the old DC), but my DIY army is mostly a 1st company strike force. So, how do you use your old DC minis and secondly, how many VV squads is too many to run (im thinking of running either 2x 7 squads or 1 10 man squad). Tokunator
I generally don't run any Vanguards, as they unfortunately have to compete with Multi-Melta Attack Bikes and Baal Predators for the 3 Fast Attack slots. If I used them, I'd probably go for units of 8 as this seems to be the best compromise between cost and survivability. Chaplain Hiltraud
I like the idea of running an 8 man VV squad, this can leave plenty of options open in modelling and game aspects. I don't use them as of yet but I intend to use them in my 1500pt army list (as of right now I only run a 1000pt army) as with my assualt squads, I'd like to attach a san. priest to the VV? As for my old DC mini's, I only have 3 of them left (thanks to a certain friend raiding my 40K stuff when I gave it up several years ago) but I think they fit in just fine with the new DC mini's so I intend just to use them there with the help of some new DC arms and backpacks...although I did see someone use the old DC mini's done up as regular tactical marines to give their squads that extra blood angely look...so maybe one of mine will end up in a tac squad...
