Comments welcome with the following caveat; Yes, I know about the AS face/fluff/helmet business. I guess I can't stop anyone from commenting thusly but I reserve the right to point to the included disclaimer as opposed to replying.

beautiful paint job man. I hate blue libbies in BA armies so I'm glad to see you twist the norm abit. Seriously sexy model tho man, keep it up.

I am of the same opinion but this model looks great; love the black. I also think the Librarian with Storm Shield and TDA is one of the best HQ options. I plan on modelling one of my own...thanks for the inspiration.

I like it, and no helmet is not a problem, he is just Glamering his true features  Am I correct in guessing that he is the TDA Libby with just a hand(and shield) swap with the space hulk sarge?

Thanks for the comments all.

Concerning Blue & Librarians: Argue with me as you will but I do tend to be a stickler for fluff when it comes to my army building. Librarians in blue armor is an age-old convention in Space Marine lore. From a pure aesthetic, making your key models stand out attracts the eye and adds a great deal of character to your army. Take it for what it’s worth but the decision to conform to this standard outweighs painting them in the same scheme as the rest of the army, IMHO (unless you’re painting smurfs or something but where’s the fun in that?).

I don't think the angle on the Storm Shield arm works quite right,

I’m not quite following you here. Are you saying that it looks too far away from the body? I angled the shield so that the models eyes could see past it, i.e. like he’s looking at what he’s about to smite with Blood Lance of the equivalent. Plus, I wasn’t about to remove his left arm and resculpt it if I could avoid it. Curious to hear your thoughts on approaching that differently.

Am I correct in guessing that he is the TDA Libby with just a hand(and shield) swap with the space hulk sarge?

Your guess is very correct. It just took stripping the forearm off the plastic bit and the hand molded into the shield fell right into place.

Thanks again for the comments, -OMG

I think that you have done as good a job as was possible without completely removing the arm. And as you said that you clearly did not want to go through that ordeal, I can appreciate that.

Other than that you've done a good job, That shield arm is a bit of a pain to get cut down to just a fist.
