rodgers37
Hey Guys.... I Really like Death Company, the fluff, the Death Company models, the colour scheme.... But after discussions in my list thread, about the viability of running an all Death Company army...while being fun, will not be that effective, and will be counterd easily.... But i thought, maybe i could do a 'standerd' BA army, but all painted Death Company style....would that work? So say i only wanted one squad of Death Company in the end, rather than a whole 1500 point army of them (or even building ontop of a 1500 point army of Death Company), then start painting Baal's and Vindicaors, Assault/Tactical squads etc in the Death Company scheme... So has anyone done this before? And also will this look good? or just be too black, should Death company colours, be on Death Company models? Thanks Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/203674-death-company/ Share on other sites
SamaNagol
No, because you would have units painted and modelled to look identical, but representing different army list entries. Taking tactical/assault marines painted as Death Company in a list with actual Death Company in would be unfair in my opinion. rodgers37
well, firstly they wouldn't look the same anyway, because the models would be diffrent, its like painting CSM the same as Zerkers, and saying its unfair.... And although i said Tac/assault Marines, i probably wouldn't use them.....its more for tanks/terminators..... if i did take a Tactical squad, it would be for Long Range fire power.....but then might as well take a Dev Squad, or Predator... *I wasn't going to model them the same anyway, otherwise that would be silly, because i would forget what is what as well......if i had a assault squad, next to a death company squad with jump packs, i'm sure i could have some markings diffrent, to show they arn't the same anyway, plus the wouldn't look the same, as the models are diffrent.... SamaNagol
I'm just going by how you worded your initial post. If you make clear distinctions, then that is fine. There are some nice Death Company Terminators painted up in the showcase thread in the sticky up top of this forum. Sanguinarian
Just invert the colors for the DC i.e. red with black x's or if you want everything black, just put the obligatory red x's on your DC and now they stand out from the rest of YOUR army. I think i will do a Death Company Blood Angels army, i have 4 black Reach Terminators (but only 3 PFs...so will have to use a Space Wolf power fist :S), and a dread, i converted slightly (the weapons....) so will try and paint them up in the next few days, although its unlikely i will use them ever, it can only be good to get some extra painting experiance :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/203674-death-company/#findComment-2428192 Share on other sites
