Rune priest Halfdane One-Eyed

Hey, I've been working on some conversions from the Warriors of Chaos sprue bits. So far I've modelled several Wolg Guards which I am quite happy about and decided that I should make a plastic Rune Priest. Here's my idea - he will have that wolfheads backpack as well to distinguish his HQ status. Brothers, what do You think - from the look of his - is he clearly a RP or something should be added, or he looks rather as a WG. The paintjob is in process and will have more details of course.

The pics are a bit blurry - I can't get why, but I am not a good photographer.

hmm, well, here's what I recommend:

Try adding space marine shoulder pads. If you cut one in half top to bottom you'll be able to put it over the shoulder bits you've painted yellow and then cover up the gap by extending the fur of the cloak with a little greenstuff.

Secondly, there needs to be runes on that axe!

Otherwise it looks good! Another possibility if you REALLY want to make him look rune-priest-y is give him a chooser of the slain. There's a very nice plastic bird in the Giant kit that would work wonderfully (actually thinking about using it myself for a conversion of Njal without terminator armor).

Thanks - I already tried and they fit perfectly. Just a minor GS is needed and he looks much more bulky.

There will be :D - I will either try to draw some simple runes (my freehanding sucks) or use some transfers.

Stupid me - I totally forgot that. I have some nice owls from the Wood Elves dryad sprues. I even modelled one stationary chooser for my other RP. I can simple pluck the bird on his shoulder to indicate his rank :D.

Many thanks!

I am using the Dragonling from the High elf sprue for my Chooser on my Rune Priest, but thats because his powers are a bit different theme wise from other Rune priests,in that he calls upon Fire rather then ice. Comes from having named him Loki I guess *grin*

And You are also playing High Elves, I guess :P

No I just bought the sprue from ebay because it fit the theme. Plus my wife saw the Raven that was also part of the sprue and wanted it for her Ravenguard.

When it comes to Fantasy,I would play Dark Elves if anything.

Meet Rune Priest Halfdane One-Eyed. Thanks everybody for Your advices - I've took them into account mostly.

Here are his pics

I am quite satisfied how he came out, thought some things I probably would have done differently :) Still my greenstaff-fu needs practicing and the horn on his right shoulderpad came out sloppish.

like your RP turned out very well,

but look good at the axehead ther is a moldline. and the backpack could be cleand up better also.(its an metal backpack?)

it takes a lot from the model. the line hammered right into my eye.

sad is i forget some lines aswell and discover em when i work on my pictures -.-

Yeah, I noticed that molding on the axe after I already painted it... Nothing could be worse than spotting these things too late :D - and sadly these lines become much more visible AFTER the painting than before, when You are searching for them. Actually, there are still many things which are left missed until You make some shots of the model - then they just jump into Your eyes.

But thanks for Your good words Jaeger and Warhorse :P
